Not bad, now that the tank is setup and running. I have two large test kits and everything needed to run this tank (filter media, cleaners / scrapers, filters, salt, etc).

Its really a self contained setup (an eco system). You don't have to 'clean' the tank like a goldfish bowl. You do have to scrape the inside glass about 1 every two weeks, feed them daily, and change the filter media and dump the skimmer weekly. I check the water parameters monthly. Temp is auto.

You do need to know a bit about saltwater. www.saltwaterfish.com (http://www.saltwaterfish.com) has a forums section with great articles and guides.

BTW, I just did a quick cost breakdown of everything purchased new:

The cost quickly adds up, here are some rough estimates of my items new:
Tank with overflow - $250
Dursa overlfow piping - $50
Stand - $250
Glass tops - $50
Sump w/ wet-dry - $200
T5 light - $250
ASM Skimmer $375
3000 return pump $125
4 Korillia pumps $200
80lb live rock $600
60lb live sand $200
RODI filter $100
5 gal salt $50
Refractometer $75
marine test kits $200
titaniam digital heaters $100
Powerstrips, timers, cabinet light $100
various cleaners and scrapers $100

Livestock
3 clowns $100
2 tangs $100
2 anemonies, polyps, and corals $400
other fish, snails, crabs, $200

Ouch, grand total of $4075!!!

Thanks
-Derek
