Borla on your mustangs and really like them?

Now I have the borla side Exhaust, Its cool 2 look at and sounds ok, But I have alwasys loved flowmaster 40s 2 chamber They sound so amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My buddy has a mystic cobra I have alwasy loved that car for the wayy it souned and run very well.
He had 4.30 gears and That is what got me started with cobras. I am not crazy about ford but there is somthing about cobras that i love. POWER AND SOUND!!!!

I have the borla stinger cat back on my cobra with a UPR off-road x pipe, I think it sounds great. Really loud, but I like it.:thumbsup:

Guy I bought my cobra from clams that My borla cost $1000 New
The pipe under the car runs into the muffler and right back out that same side and out to the side of the car for exit. Its Not loud at idol but when you get on it sounds ok. But I am really thinkin of swichin up and going 2 flowmaster.
Somtimes I say that this car isnt loud enuff......

I have the off road H pipe with stock headers.

I wanted side exhuast but didn't get the borla's because they werent loud enough for me. I actually might be selling my side exhuast set up here pretty soon if you would be interested.

But I have the side exhaust which is cool, But I love the sound of the flowmaster 40s 2 chamber Its deff my favv by far for 96 cobra.
Problem is My dad keeps saying (Dont change the side exhaust for rear thats what makes it diffrent) Its the sound that I want though.

I have an o/r H pipe with it thats still not really that loud enuff..
I want loud and good sound.. borla just isnt doin it for me..

They may not flow the best or make the most power on the dyno, but I'll take the sound over 3-4 ponies.

The only thing that will change your sound is the H and X midpipes. I always loved the the traditional H, but the x has it's own unique sound. Really can't go wrong either way.

Yeah, just a catback system. Summit racing sells them fairly cheap.

If you can jack the car up on jackstands in the rear, you can install the kit. Welding mufflers in place is kinda ghetto imo, but to each his own.

Borla side pipes go in the muffler, make a 90* turn, then come out the same side of the muffler. You could put flows in their place but they would have to be about 1 foot upstream in the exhaust. Then you run into clearance issues with the driveshaft or, by making them low enough to clear the shaft, they scrape everywhere.

I have a fabbed side exhuast on my car and straight through mufflers were the only ones that would work, like bullets, SLP LMs, borla stingers, etc. They are the only ones small enough to not rub the driveshaft.

I agree. On dans car it has a unique sound that i could never quite put my hands on with the borlas. Nice and loud at wot but a nice tone at cruising. The stingers are pricey but they def sound good. I even have borla stinger tips on my flowmaster cb.. Tone IMO is one of the biggest thing then next how loud it's.

Heres mine with a pypes offroad x and 2 chamber flow's. Not everyone likes it buttt it works for me and it was easy on the wallet. :twothumbsup:

I agree with you, SLP on mustangs just dont sound right too raspy!
Now slp sounds the best on an ls1 !! and all ls motors for that matter.

The torque you get from LT's works out great for 4valves since they lack it. Stay away from mac headers, get something with a solid flange like hooker, or bbk.
