We are redoing a 1989 302 and puting it in a 1985 GT and would like to keep the manual fuel pump, we have a front cover from a 77 302 that we can use and I tried using the one peace eccentric but it hits the cover I was told that I need the two peace one. If anyone has one or has done this type of swap let me know if it worked or not. I live in Freedom Pa. (near Beaver falls) we are still using the 1989 timing set
we don't want to take the old one from the 85 (would like to keep it on the road as long as possible) (shorter down time)
Thanks.....Dan

I'm not sure if that front cover will work. You might have to rerout the belt to get the water pump spinning the right way, I'm pretty sure there's a difference in the covers. The eccentric is definitely two pieces on the 85 though. You could probably just go get one from the parts store or from Ford, I can't imagine they would be that much, but I guess you never know.
