View Full Version : Bought a Whipple for the 11

As some of you already found out I finally made a decision on a supercharger for my 11 GT

First I considered centrifugal superchargers but quickly talked myself out of them and started looking at roots style blowers. I really like the low end and the noise! I debated on the kenne bell but couldnt bring myself to cut up my new car. So i finally settled on the cleanest and most factory appearing kit out there and bought the 624 hp FRPP/Whipple kit.
It will be drop shipped to my house in a few days..........pictures to follow:goodidea:

JAA55 - good luck with the build. You are doing exactly what i would like to do. I have been look at one of those for a couple of months. Just trying to decide if I want to stay NA or not.

Fastlane productions has a twin turbo on their 2011 5.0. But I don't ever remember seeing and hp numbers on it.

I would be all over E85 if we had a realible source for it out this way, and a few more in the area. For me to go get it now I would have to leave with 1/2 tank, then burn 1/2 off getting home :D

At the burn rate of the stuff, I'm not sure if the fun/gallon goes up, but the potential sure does :goodidea:

You need gas so why bitch about a need. Not like it's a want lol. I have to run premium in my vechiles as well. That's like buying designer cloths and then bitching about the price. my friend. Lol. If you wanna roll with the big dogs, you gotta pay with the big dogs. Haha.

Why not just buy it in 55 gallon drums and store them in your garage? That's what I plan on doing when/if I run E85. Should be fine for just driving around town. You'll need a 93/91 tune if you plan on going on a long trip though.

Volume and hassel ... I drive my car a lot, I go through a tank a week anyway ... at a ~35% additional burn rate, I would go through over a drum a month.

I have considered it for sure as a plus from the drum is usually guarenteed mix. What you get from the pump WILL have more gas in it. I've never got serious on it becasue I dont really need it, it would just make the tuning window wider.

Nah, no issue for me, I run on MicroSquirt, so I would just add the flex fuel sensor and it will do it's thing ;)

I dont even have anywhere within driving distance for me to get e85 a drum would be my only option, monroeville is the closest for me

a drum is the best option, we have been seeing inconsistances in the e85 fuels at the pump in mi. the octane rate has been off by as many as 5 points on fuel checks.
