HELP: Front Seat Belt Remove

I am currently striping the interior out on my 87 LX hatchback. I have a simply problem and I thought I would ask for help before I break something. The front seatbelt retractor is unbolted from the body, but there is this cable/wire running to a black plastic connector on the body that I can’t disconnect. How does this cable detach?

It snaps into the ring that is on the other side. You will have to plug the hole left with something.
