View Full Version : Lincoln Electric welders?
Anyone on here use the Pro Mig 140 P/N K2480-1? If so how do you like it.
I'm looking to upgrade to something with gas and this one fits the bill. Can do up to 5/16" steel which is more than plenty for what I want to do. While still being a 110v welder for ease of use. I use the Lincoln Handy Mig but it's heat/amp control and being flux core only is limiting and touchy at times. Plus I want something that can do much cleaner welds.

I have a older lincoln mig (10 years) and it has been good to me and has had a few hundred pounds of wire through it.

I've been welding for 25 years, the Lincoln welder will do a good job.

I should have said that any name brand ( Miller, Lincoln, Hobart) will work well and 10 years down the road you'll still be able to get parts for them. ;)
I'm a little pissy today, been working a ton of overtime and have another 10 hours to go tomorrow.

I have the ProMig 135 and it's been fantastic.
Be sure to look at the manual for it: http://www.lincolnelectric.com/assets/en_US/Products/literature/E726.pdf
It will weld up to 3/16" single-pass or 5/16" multi-pass with flux core.
With CO2 it will only weld up to 10ga.
From my experience don't bother with anything over 1/8" with CO2 and don't even attempt 1/4" unless you use flux core.
Think I'll grab a ProMig 140 next chance I find them on sale. Missed Lowes had them at 20% off if ordered online/with store pickup. Been over $100 off store prices.
