I currently have a Kenne Bell 1.5L on my 89 GT with Heads/Cam/Intake/3.73 Gears and a TKO600 running 8 psi. I am thinking of switching to a Vortech around the same boost or maybe a bit higher. I am afraid that I will miss all of the low end torque of the KB. Does anyone have a mild Vortech that I can ride in or take for a test drive to see if it is something I want to pursue before dropping $3k?

I live in the south hills but work in Wexford.

Thanks!

You are going to lose some bottom end.. But you will kill that Kb blower on the top end.

Yeah, at 8 lbs you would be around 400 at the wheels.

I know your looking at just the vortechs, but I had the Procharger P1-SC on my old fox at 9.65lbs did 495 at the rear on a dynojet. Got to love the sound of a centri!

How much boost could I run safely without using meth or an intercooler?

If I go with a 10-12 psi system will I see any boost at 2500-3000 rpms?

Who is a good vortech tuner around here?

How are you guys keeping your stock 5.0 blocks in one piece long-term while making around 500rwhp ?

Long-term? They aren't. Although I ran an entire hillclimb season with a T-Trim on a stock longblock. Some people just get lucky. Went12s made like 5000 hp on a stock short block or something.

I was exaggerating. It made a lot. I will let him comment, but it was pretty dumb how much power it made.
