1989 Corvette 6spd Lingenfelter 383 Dynod 442hp 496tq LPE stainless steel headers MSD 6AL blah blah blah

Best run 11.8 @ 120 then I was asked to leave due to no roll bar. I added a complete new rearend with 3.73's last year along with a SPEC Stage 2+ clutch and alum. flywheel and DRM camber brackets. So we will see what it goes this year if I can run.

Car looks nice. At what ET to do you need the rollbar? I thought it was under 11.5, but I'm probably wrong about that. Do you have a targa top on there - maybe that's the reason - they treat it as if it is a convertible?

11.49 for a roll bar. Not sure why they would tell you that.

Man does that car take me back to good 'ol times in Richland wasting gallons and gallons of fuel cruising on Scalp! How long have you had that now? I feel like you've had that since high school, is that right?

if it was back at NHRA days when it was keystone rules used to be 12.0 not till recently they lowered the number.

car seems to run pretty good.

Looks like "snake charmer" is some kinda play on words with Cobras?

Can't say I'm a fan of that, but I dig the burnout!

Niice, are you doin a burnout in a driveway!?? lol

I haven't ran the car in years since it was Keystone and that was the rule then. I haven't changed much so no need to take it down. The burnout is in the driveway. I was getting ready to coat it so didn't care about leaving some marks! :)

Gallons and gallons of gas wasted on Scalp that is for sure. Have had the car since new. 21K miles on car currently and 11k on motor.

Been having issues with the car running. Hard starting and real bad idle to name a few. Couple people mentioned getting a new tune. Any place in western PA that has the ability to do this? I sent the prom to LPE and they couldn't do anything without the car. Kinda far to go so that's my last resort. I know there are places to send the prom to but would like too get the car somewhere close to tune it with prom if possible. Currently the car is starting better and idling better with the stock prom in it, def. not right.

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone remember the alcohol powered Vette that ran around on Scalp back in the '90's??

Man, chip burning is a dying thing. I would check into PCM4Less. I think that's how it's spelled. He might be able to hook you up. Last I knew he was in Apollo, but not sure if thats where he is still at.

Also, a tune doesn't really go bad unless you make a change to something. I would maybe start with just a basic tuneup: plugs, wires, fuel filter & clean the MAF sensor & check fuel pressure. Start with the simple stuff & work from there. I'm not real familiar with the TPI stuff or I could probably help a little more

I've checked all the simple things. After that I took to the garage that put the ATI Procharger on. He couldn't fig. Anything out either and mentioned the tune. I've been going to the same garage for the vette for a long time. I don't know why it starts better and idles better with the stock prom. With the LPE prom in it is terrible :(

This. NHRA is under 11.99 and under IHRA is 11.49 and under for hardtops.

When I disconnect the est the car dies, having troubled setting the timing due to this reason. I think I got it close but hard to tell. Went for a ride and it ran good, spun the tires in 2nd at half peddle. Sends to be starting better and did idle at 1100. Stock chip is still in tho. Gonna mess with it more on Thursday.

Hmm, that's not who I was thinking of. Well I messed with the timing again and got it just about where I want except that the EST wire was connected and it is not suppose to be when setting the timing. I put the LPE chip in and it started and idled pretty good in the garage. It was raining so no test drive. I hope that things are now correct and that by the dist. jumping a little was the problem. Next nice day with some free time I'm gonna take it out.
