My female cousin gets a job at UPMC parking cars! Good for her. Unfortunately for me she can"t drive a stick and I'm a bad teacher. I'm taking her to Somerset this weekend to learn on my dad's Altima.....wish me luck!

Yea, she doesn"t get it. She's not the smartest girl in the world. I thought about taking her on the quad and teaching her "gas - clutch" but my brother has a race quad and my dad's quad is automatic. It's gonna be a long horrible weekend....

No offense but how did she get the job without knowing how. I would assume any parking attended would have to know how to drive both auto and manual.

Wow... She better learn, and learn quick.... If some doctor gets outta his porche and she can't properly park it, she's gonna be in a world of $hit...

Good luck anyhow :D

I dont mean to be rude, but this is BS. Bish is 100% correct. I'm no millionaire, don't have a Porsche, but everything I do have I have worked hard for and take great care of it. The last thing I would want is some girl burning the clutch up in any of my cars... beater truck or new sports car. Tell your aunt to get her a job answering the phone!

I don't think its a real big deal she got the job without being able to drive a stick.

Most everything I own is a stick and I do occassionally use valets. It doesn't bother me a bit to see one valet notice it's a stick and then run and grab a more experienced driver to move my car. And without fail, that's what they do. I've never seen a valet smoke out a clutch... not saying its never happened, but with so few stick-shifts on the road this is really a rarity.

I give the girl credit for taking a job knowing she'll have to learn something that probably 75% of today's drivers can't do.

Sex sells. I agree, unfortunatlely for u I don't pimp my family out. Go to Jenna Jameson's website and see if she made a video w/ a creeper that dresses as a parking attendent :goodidea:

Agreed! I didn't hire her ass. Corporate America did! I'm teaching her this weekend. I hope it works out...

5-spd training went well this weekend. I took her to a parking lot. Explained the basics, she got in the driver seat and pulled right out! So I said "Sweet, same concept in reverse and don't forget clutch in then brake! We go back to the house and my dad asked how it went. I explained all the aforementioned and people that can't teach do. Thanks Daddy for helping me out!!
