Took the GT to Beaver Run for the first time. I put new Hankook Ventus V12 tires on it which was probably a mistake. The car felt like it was a bit loose early on. I should have left the BFGs on which were at the wear bars. Still had a great time. The wife was using a stop watch and clocked a best time of 1:15. The car behaved very well especially with traction control off. It could use lower gears because turn 10 going up the hill, she needed second gear. Can't wait for the next FOD.

Good to see someone on this site taking their Mustang on the road course. You may be able to change your line going into 10 to be able to stay in third to go up the hill. Better tires will obviously help there as well. I wouldn't go too much deeper than 3.55s, maybe 3.73s. The Hankooks aren't too bad, but a better tire would definitely help.

FWIW, I am down to second in my Cobalt at times going through that corner, it isn't that odd to be in second there, but in my fox with 3.55s I just left it in third.

I was there watching on Sun. I would have been participating had i know about it earlier. Your car looked good out there. There were some fast cars there.

I had the 2011 5.0 out there.

It's so hard to tell myself to slow down enough to go into 2nd after the back straight. That's a sweet time in the Cobalt. There were a few modded Vettes turning 1:09s, at least accorind to my wife's cell phone lap timer. There is no better use of a minute than flying around that track.

I would have loved to see that White Lambo, run around the track.

Thanks. Group 2 was overrun with Vettes. We needed more Fords. I was able to hang with the red 'Carrera S' toward the end of the day. He was probably afraid to push it harder. PS - In a few years, when the prices drop a bit, I'm going to upgrade to your car.

Thanks. The car has been in the 1.09s at two different time trials there, on the stock tires. Probably dip into the 1.08s maybe even the 1.07s on the Bridestones on it now. A stock C5 Z06 is capable of 1.06s or better there, a C6 probably 1.04s, maybe even quicker. Hard to get solid lap times at a FOD.
