I'm going to play at Pittsburgh National Golf Club (the old Deer Run) near Gibsonia tomorrow at 12:14PM....

$30 for 18 holes and cart....

If anyone is interested, please let me know... I'm only playing by myself this time, so there's room for 3 more ....

Well - how'd you hit 'em??

I played for the first time in a year about 3 weeks ago. Outing at my brother-in-law's hunting camp up in Driftwood PA. Lots of fun. Played scrambles each of 3 days. Emporium, Bavarian Hills, and Pine Grove. I couldn't believe how well I hit the ball. My guess is that I would have broken 80 each day. One guy in our group had a hole-in-one, so that was really cool. Once the kids are a little older the wife and I hope to play much more often. Until then, once/twice a year is all we get...

that's really cool! I've played Emporium CC before (my parents have a camp about 20 mins south of Coudersport)... the front 9 is ok... i think the back 9 is stupid....

I ended up not playing Pgh National... someone took the tee-time before i could get it resereved.... so I played at Ponderosa Golf Course, out near Burgettstown... had never played there, but read some good things on it.... i shot a 77, which is right in line with my 5 handicap, but i probably won't go back... I could have easily shot a 72 or better if the greens weren't so pathetically slow... i didnt make a putt over 4 feet until the 18th green... i just couldn't bring myself to hit the ball THAT hard for a 15 foot putt...

Although, its not superbly frustrating for me to putt poorly... for years now i've been really good from tee-to-green.... my putting has improved drastically, and i'm still a very poor putter... i would probably play a handicap anywhere from scratch to 2 if i was even an average putter... The good news for me is that i usually putt very well on very tough courses - ones where the greens are brutally fast and difficult... but i'm cheap, and not willing to pay $75+ per round

The Links at Spring Church is quickly becoming my favorite course... I can't seem to find a better course for a better value... when i get my house built out that way, i will frequent that place...
