If anyone is looking to have windows tinted, I can recommend The Tint Guy. He came to my home today--tinted my Mach 1 windows in my garage. He did a fantastic job, clean and professional and very reasonably priced. I did not want to leave my baby at some shop over night. The tint guy made it look factory with the tint lining up with the window perfect, not any blueish color to it. Back window in 1 piece. Very professional! I would recommend to anyone!

He has light = 35%, medium = 20%, and dark = 5%. He can double-up for even darker if desired. Medium (20%) is similar to the OEM tint on the rear windows of trucks and SUVs...

The law is, nothing is allowed on the windows, its really up to the officer if he will pull you over or not. I always run 5 percent cause if I'm going to get pulled over, it's going to be in style.

Correct. I got pulled over in Jefferson hills. I'm not a fan of 5%. Too dark for me. With ford factory windows and 35% tint you'll be around 30%. I think the average car is around 5??(blocking 5% of light)

Another great review of "the tint guy". I left a message and texted, he texted back within the hour and called back at the end of the day. Said he could come to me in 2 weeks but had options if I came to Butler for 2 days out, I took that option. He did the install at Speed of Sound and was done in 1.5 hours (crazy fast, and affordable). I'll have to post pictures when I clean my car again, the rain yesterday caught me out.

Before I looked at the car he said a "couple bubbles" would come out in a few days and scared me but when I went out to the car I struggled to find them. The couple I could see were the size of pin dots :)

Tint looks nice on your cars guys, but doesn't the Po-Po give you a hard time about it? Also - most inspection stations won't pass cars with the windshields tinted. Just curious. I love the look, but had issues getting the '90 SuperCoupe ( tinted all around ) inspected a few years ago...

Its so bad my black front door is faded after two months of fresh paint. I heard if you go too dark on residential windows they will crack from the heat.....

I think there is actually a different grade of tint you have to use on residential windows that are more than single payne or it causes heat buildup between he panes as you stated and will cause them to crackor explode.

We've got the original 70's Anderson wood single panes so no worries on exploding. However, in the winter they frost up sometimes and I wonder if the tint would stand a chance. They'll likely get replaced before I get around to tint them.

Yea but from original owner so I plan to have them re-done this yr. My Cavalier was done by First-Bass in Allison Park but he's not doing it anymore. I had my girl's car done at Fred's Made in the Shade on the South Side Slopes and he did a real nice job for a good price IMO. I will have him do my Cobra too. Basically I drove the car into the garage, sat and BS'd with him while he did the car, and I was out in about an hr. $180

I'm not going to post the price, I was quoted last summer. Don't want to cause any drama if it changed. The price he gave was good enough for me plus coming out and doing it at work or home. I'm a busy man.

The guy I used to goto doesn't tint anymore, so I'm forced to find someone and I don't feel like driving an hour away to get it done lol. I thought about the guy in Bridgeville. I know theres a few places in Moon. I've been shopping around. I was just wondering a quote for an ideal price. I paid 180.00 back when my tint dude did mine.. I'll get it figured out at some point!

The hood is a stripe and the roof is a wrap and I ordered them both from American Muscle and had them both installed.

Tint guy was at my house today to do the windows on my Mini Cooper S (30% tint). Did a great job as usual. He said he was at Mikes shop earlier today doing the windows on his truck. He said he has gotten tons of business from SCS.
