WTB: car/truck

Looking for a decent car/truck to daily drive. I probably wont be looking to buy until Oct/Nov, however, I figured I would post this now to 1) see whats out there, and 2) give people that are maybe on the fence about selling a vehicle some time to think about it.

Looking to spend:
-Right now I would say no more than 5k, but that may change.

Looking for:
-preferably something 4wd like a Ranger, bronco/bronco II, f150, Wrangler (only if you don't want an arm, a leg, and a nutsack for it like they usually go for), Cherokee, toyota pickup, etc etc.

-I would prefer a 4wd truck/SUV, however if there are some cool cars out there for a good price I would consider: Contour SVT, Thunderbird SC, Probe GT, integra GSR, older WRX, escort GT hatchback, something along those lines...let me know!


Do not even bother if your vehicle:
-is a mustang (wrong forum, right? :laughing:)
-is rusted to hell
-has over 150k
-"only needs a headgasket" (or some other major work, you get the idea)
-is not/will not be inspected
-does not have a title

escape isn't really my cup of tea, however my mind may change once its time for me to buy (I'm sure they're great in the snow so that may make me want to go with it). I'll keep it in mind Jim.

awesome in the snow, I ran that one all through college and sold it with 195k miles on it for 3k in one day. they hold their value, get good gas mileage and go like a tank.

i have a one owner 2000 contour svt. its silver frost with 100k miles and it runs and drives perfect. its lowered a little and has black stock wheels with red calipers. i have a few cell pics if interested. looking for 4k

pretty sure I saw it on craigslist today. looks clean. Ever have the waterpump replaced? I know that is a known issue with them since they came with one that had a plastic impeller that was prone to breaking.

If you still have that around October I'd be very interested...always wanted one.

Yes, it is on craigslist. I just got it off the original owner. I put a brand new water pump in it with the metal propeller, new thermostat, flushed and put new antifreeze in the rad. The car is ready to go, has no problems. It's inspected and has good emissions until 5/12.

guy i work with got a 73k 03 s10 in very good shape, it was his dads truck, single cab shortbed 2wd 4cyl 5500....i kno u want 4wd but id figure id try

I did just buy it off the original owner. I guess technically that would make two. The ad is mine, my girlfriend wanted this car really bad so I picked it up for her. She never drove it and decided she wanted a 4x4 instead (typical woman). So I'm just trying to get a car I don't need off my hands! I'd keep it for myself but I already have an svt focus for a dd that gets good gas mileage too.

haha! i know what you mean. Like I said I am very interested, I've always wanted one. If you still have it around October it would probably be my first choice. I know thats a little bit away still but just letting you know:awsome:
