auto swap out help

I started collecting parts to swap out the lx since I haven't gotten any interest so imma make it a 5spd ..

However I was told that since the car is an auto I have to change the harness and comp ....

Is this true ... I remember swapping a few back in the day but don't ever remember changing the comp or harness ....

Any help or advise would be great !!

You can modify the tranny harness to work, which is what I did, but you can get the correct one on corral for pretty cheap. When I put my car back together this winter I will be buying the correct one. As far as computer, if you have an sct chip, the auto functions can be turned off, which is also what i did. Auto computer with a chip turning it off.

If it is a Fox body you have to change a small wiring harness that goes to the tranny. There is also a couple shunts that need delt with. I can't remember if you take them out or put them in when going to a 5 speed. The auto computer will work. However if you swap to an A9L stick computer you have to change the O2 harness or you will ruin the computer.

you do not need to change the computer if it is a foxbody.... using an A9L or A9P computer will work perfectly fine. The tunes between the two differ very slightly
