You find the coolest stuff!

Looks like it sold for a pretty reasonable price given how unique it is.

Wow...talk about a car with different personalities! Sure could confuse the neighbors.

Interesting ....

Wondering about the '68 rear marker lights that look to be welded in? Was there something different about the CS lights, or was it a 67 car or 67 quarters or what ??? Interesting car, but it looks like lots of stuff hidden in that car.

The '67s did not have the side marker lights on the quarters. They started that in '68.

I'm sure that car has its share of secrets...but maybe they just get missed because there are so many obvious changes that were made?

Definitely a conversation piece. Not sure if I'd trust that removable fastback roof above 80mph though...

I know that, what was confusing is the car is advertised as a 68, but it looks like the quarter markers was added on both sides like it started as a 67. Your right, we could pick it apart, but it is what it is ... I doubt anyone is going to buy it as a collector piece ;)

Sorry Bob - I figured you knew that - maybe here's what happened... I'm pretty sure all the repop quarter panels out there ( I think ) are the '67 style without the side marker holes - so maybe the quarters were replaced with repops, and since the car was a GT/CS, they tried to make the quarters look authentic? I dunno - just reaching.

What interests me the most is that fastback top. If I had a '68 convertible that was more of a driver, I'd think about it, since those early ragtops don't keep much water out. An Eleanor convertible/fastback would be a neat route to go with it...

There were 2 different style quarter marker lights available in 68, one style quarter had an indent set up for a lens and painted bezel like pictured, the other quarter was flat and there was a chrome trimmed reflector there.
