I posted up a quick run down of what happend to my daughters 10 point she killed yesterday in the thread titled take a kid hunting. Some idiot took her deer while we were trying to get to it. I wondered how somebody could have done this so quickly, so today I called off work and snooped around there a bit. Wow, people never fail to amaze me. Whoever is doing this could be one person or many more. There are a series of quad trails over the hill from my grandfathers home/farm where we were hunting. Off of these trails are random fresh trails heading down into a ravine where her deer died and we found the gut pile.
I figured out why this spot was so interesting to this/these hunters. After seeing this I called the Game commission and I'm pushing this issue till it gets taken care of. We'll see how this all plays out since the rumor is the guys on the quads have a father who's an active police officer....so who knows. This is the exact reason why there is anti-hunters out there. Lack of ethics in the woods.

This is the exact reason I haven't been going hunting the past few years. The area I have hunted since I was a kid has been heavily poached and scouted by friends of the family who owns it. They go back about a mile or two in their quads and pull out the big deer that we never see. We've also heard gunshots back in the woods in the middle of the night and before dawn. It really is a shame.

Thats good reporting it if its not your family's land. If it is, the game commission will post the land for the season because of the food plot even if the person who placed the food plot doesn't own the land. Despicable so called hunters....ruin it for everyone

Yeah it's on another property. My pap owns the fields, and most of the woods are owned by someone else.
The buck was mabey 80-100 yds into the other property. The guy doing the baiting doesn't own it either, and it's not posted. I have figured out the GC doesn't get back quickly though....still waiting for a call from the officer.

I hope you get the GC to catch up with these a$$holes. Really makes me wonder if my kids will be able to enjoy the same quality of hunting that I do.

GC will get back to you, but they are under staffed and with it being hunting season, stretched very thin. Did they give you the name of the officer?

Just keep an eye out for the Quads and use them as target practice. Funny things happen every year to hunters in the woods with all those stray bullets flying around.
