Hey guys, Jackie sold her explorer and now on a search of a 1998-2004 Crown Vic or Grand Marquis. Preferably a Crown Vic. Looking for something with very low mileage (20K - 45K) and not white in exterior color. She would prefer leather interior but not necessary. Will be buying next week and she will have about a $7000 limit. Thanks
Brandon

If you raise your $ limit a bit and the mileage limit, you could find a Marauder - I've seen them with 80k miles or so for around $9k. That's a whole lotta car for the money. Just a thought.
The P71 ( police interceptor ) crown vics are built like tanks - heavy duty everything - they are known to go for well over 200k miles and are generally well-maintained while in-service. They run and handle rings around the garden-variety vics. yellowstang03 is a P71 expert - I bet he can chime in with some thoughts.
Good luck!

2004 seem to be the most sought after for alot of reasons, I would go for anything that's 2003 and newer and don't be scared of mileage on them. My last car had over 220k and it ran and drove like it was new. I also have a marauder and love it but for a dd your gonna have to run high test and the tires are pretty pricey. I would look for a p71 with a street appearance package, it's a police interceptor with the normal civilian interior but still has the beefed up suspension and such as the regular interceptor does...

Hey guys, thanks for the input! I am fairly schooled with the Vics. This will be only her second vehicle. Vics seem to be out numbered 10 to 1 compared to the grand marquis for being for sale. A few weeks ago there was an 2000 HPP with 34K on it sold at the dealer for $5999. I have a feeling that we will not see that again! No way is she getting a Marauder! haha wayy too nice of a car for winter driving, plus this is her second winter and 1st one without a 4x4 lol. Shes kind of against the idea of a vic, but I keep drilling it into her head that for the money and insurance cost, you cant find much more of a well built, reliable car with low miles.

I have a little FYI on the Crown Vics. that you may already know about. The A/C drain drips on the frame rail and rots the frame rail out below it on the bend. I found out about it when I bought my otherwise rust free CV. Just something to keep an eye out for especially on an older one.

I have heard of this issue but haven't looked into it as well as I need to. I was talking with a Pa state constable the other day and he said that was the only, but big issue he had with his P71
