My 2001 F-150 Super Crew currently has Edelbrock shocks on it. They were on the truck when I got it back in 2004. Well it's time to replace them and the price for Edelbrocks is a little out of my reach now...Advance on-line has them at near $100 each.
For anyone that has a similar truck, what shocks are you running or do you prefer? I do very little offroad driving but a lot of towing an 18' trailer w/ a large tractor or car on it. There are a lot of choices.....Monroe, Rancho, KYB. etc....
Thanks.

Wow....no one uses shocks on their F-150? Huh.

My 2000 seems to have factory shocks on it. I bought some rancho rs5000's for it a little while ago, but haven't put them on yet. I'll let you know how they do when I get around to it. It's gotta be better then what's on it.

My wife had a 2000 reg cab longbed. I put Rancho RS5000's on it a few years back, think it had 84K on the originals. Not one bit of difference between the oem's and the Ranchos, no better no worse, just didn't notice any difference. They're still on the truck now with about 110K on it, her dad has the truck now. I wouldn't say they were a waste of money, just not much of an upgrade over stock.
I put Bilsteins on my 05 and that made a dramatic difference, but then the price was about 4x as much.

Any cheap shock is gonna be about the same. Bilsteins are the best but will be out of your price range.
