I have a stock rebuilt ‘87 302 HO waiting to go into my car. The block has Sealed Power .030 over, 9:1 or 10:1cr, notched pistons. It is still a speed density computer. It has the stock cam. IF I cam it, will be will a mild cam, most likely a Comp Cam XE258HR (http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Search/CamDetails.asp?PartNumber=35-510-8)
While I finish the chassis, I have also bought:
2.5 inch exhaust system
Explorer intake and GT40p heads.
I will need a 65 or 70 MM throttle body.
Now the question… The heads have stock valves and no other parts. How do I build up these heads? The engine is so mild I could use a stock setup, I guess. Someone had mentioned using a 93 Cobra setup. Another person suggested using Trick Flow TFS-2500100. Will I need to change the rods and lifter? I have a set of Ford 1.72 roller rockers, if I convert to studs, I could use them. Is 1.72 to much lift?
Thanks for your input.
