I just made an appointment with hybrid to make some pulls for tomorrow. Anybody want to make some guesses on RWHP. The car is a N/A, EFI with an AOD non-lockup converter that runs mid 11's and weighs over 3200 without me. I can tell you it's not a dyno queen.
I hope the new motor is ready!:worried:

Does the winner get to drive it if he wins? :biglaugh: 450hp

Sure, but if you drive one you'll want to buy one.
Aye, I'm trying to be an optimist here for ya

I already want a cobra but I can't afford one yet. Maybe when I'm done with school. I think the car will make about 340 RWHP. If it does I'll be happy.

I hope you do get to 340 cause if you do that will give me hopes for getting into the high 11's with just the minor mods I'm doing to the Cobra.
Good luck tomorrow

Anything more than 340 I'll be surprised but I bet it will make about 370 tq

i am basing that off your mph and your auto will give you more trq.

Last year my car ran 11.4 @ 116. That is very similar to yours. Im assuming that my dyno numbers then would be comparible to what your car puts down tomorrow since my car weighed roughly 3200-3300 last year.
My first real pull on the dyno last week put down 330 RWHP so im very interested to see if yours is similar to that. You have to AOD where mine is an AODE however.
But i think 340 HP would be a good estimate. You are looking for more TQ however and im assiming this may due to more cubic inches?

Well I just got back from hybrid and I'm pretty happy. It made 334RWHP on the first pull but it was lean. After a couple of adjustments I ended with 343 RWHP and 343 ftlbs of tq. :jump: I'm wait on the video from youtube, once it up i'll post it.

Did you make any changes from your setup from last year? Thats a little more than where i started. I just wonder how different our actual numbers are.

I added gear, but they said that it will cause the dyno to read less RWHP.

What kind of ETs would you like to see out of it this year?

I've got a '60 Thunderbird that lays down those kind of numbers! See ya at the track! Just kidding... Your car ran great today. It really does have rumble. U.J.

It should run 11.4's most of the year. I only went from 3.73 to 3.90.

Yeah it has rumble but to bad it doesn't have that chick in the back seat.
When we gonna build that FE motor to run like that.

It should rumble MORE if you had that chick in the back seat. About the FE Motor. Here's a quote from another FE guy...
"I always thought the 390 was a bullet proof engine. I've never had any trouble.
They did have FE oiling problems early on but I think it was in the 352 and 360 and it was corrected when the 390 came out in '61. Also, I believe the 300 HP was rated at the wheels which is what they always did in them days so it would have been around 400 at the crank.
Another thing I've heard is The absolute worst head used on a F.E. of any year flows better than either the popular 1969 351-W, 4-V HEAD or the NEW GT-40 Head."
Anybody wanna weigh in on this? I will relay the messages.:laughing1:

Yeah the 351W did have junk heads on them back in the day thats why the 351C was desired. Until they made aftermarket heads for the 351W. I don't think they rated the HP at the wheels back in the 60's but I don't know. Lets put in on the dyno.

What? Do you want to see the Wide White Walls fly off? LOL! If I had the original '68 Mustang that the motor came out of, I'd take it there.:biglaugh:
