Does anyone have any real before / after numbers from an aluminum shaft install in a fox? I'm trying to prioritize my next purchases, and trying to see where this fits ;) I know its supposed to reduce vibrations and such, but can anyone report performace gains that matter?

PS - If anyone has one for sale, let me know ;)

Bob I put one on my 5.0 car and it did get rid of alot of the vibrations I had. It is alot lighter but I didnt see any performance improvments. Also I know a guy who may be selling one.

I dyno'ed my 00Gt before and after to see what it did. 0hp and 5lbs of torque. So all and all about nothing, but it does help with vibrations.

The main purpose for it is weight savings, which it is alot lighter. If your car freed up 5ft #s of torque in addition, i'd be exstatic! I may be in the market for one myself soon.:veryhappy:

My Crown Vic PI had one. It was to reduce vibrations. The Police cars that came with 3:55 gears had them factory from Ford. I dont have one on the notch.

Thanks guys, I didnt expect to see a HP increase, but wondering if the rotating mass had any real effect. The stock DS has that big honking counterweight on the nose. Eh, it likely goes further down the list unless I find a deal.
Shaun - let me know if its a good deal ;)

From what I see, the AOD cars have the weight on the end. All of my AOD cars did and none of my T-5/Tremmic cars do.

My 4cyl 5speed car has the weight on the DS.
Also my Dad got a Alum. DS off of a early 90's Aerostar van, changed the universals and put it on his car.
