Just got the car back together and running today! The motor was built by Broughers Machine Shop in pleasant hills. Jerry really knows his stuff when it comes to motors! Here is a rundown of the motor:

Trick flow forged pistons
Scat forged Hbeam rods
Scat forged crank
Trick flow twisted wedge heads
Crane roller rockers 1.7 ratio
E303 cam
Trick flow upper and lower intake manifold
Bbk throttle body
42lb injectors
Ford racing fuel rails
Aeromotive fuel press regulator
Cram hi 6 ignition
Msd coil
Msd distributor
Msd wires
Pro m
Bbk headers
3" exhaust flowmasters, true duels
I'm sure Thera something I'm forgetting
the dyno tune is set for the 28th at ASAPerformance

Sounds like a nice build. I would definitely stay away from ASAP. I was not satisfied with the dyno tune he did on my car ( maybe 10 years ago ), and the price was ridiculous. I worked on the car with some experienced friends afterwards and we were able to get the car dialed in very well - but ASAP didn't do much other than take my money.
Others here on SCS have similar stories. I'm lucky from what I have heard, as a few motors haven't survived long after ASAP dyno tunes.
Definitely consider finding another tuning source.
Good luck.

Where would you reccomend? I don't really know of any close. Plus I need a place that can burn me a custom chip.

Where are they located? Do you have any contact info? Thanks!

They are a site sponsor. Go to the main forums page and at the bottom in the advertiser forum section you'll see their area. Just click into there and you'll see their contact info at the bottom of one of their posts. Or you can send them a PM and they'll get back to you. I am very close to bringing a 289 to them for a rebuild. Seem like very nice guys - and thorough too. Lots of folks on here have had great experience with them. Good luck!

Another vote to stay away from ASAP.
After the stories I have heard, I wouldn't let ASAP Ed tune my lawnmower. Been some seriously damaged vehicles from there as well. Like one mustang got totaled and he basically said eff off to the owner.

Damn!!! Ok well sounds like wolf pack or streetlethal it is!!! I will cancel the apt. So wolf pack would be a lot closer to me, but I don't mind going to street lethal either. So I guess maybe it comes down to time, unless someone has an opinion

Sounds like its gotta be street lethal. U know how busy they are or what the waiting time is typically? Crossing my fingers that it's not 6 or 7 weeks!

Made my appointment with street lethal today. Set for the 4th. Feel a lot better about the situation, they seem VERY knowledgeable and good to work with! Not a long wait to get it in either! Thanks everyone!!!

Hahah I find it awesome to know that he reccomends basically DE-tuning the car so we are around 450 rwhp.... He said anything over that I built a time bomb haha. Glad someone is lookin out for us and just isnt going willy nilly doing whatever and then the motor blows up after a couple runs lol. Stock 302's are not worthy of the higher HP numbers so I've been told by numerous.....

How much do they charge for a tune?
OctaneGraphix
08-20-2012, 10:23 PM
I think he said 650. Which isn't bad, ASAP was gonna be more. That includes your custom burnt chip
Cool thank you!! Is ASAP really that bad?! That sucks. They are always busy though, have about a 6 week wait for appointments. Mine was scheduled for te 28th
because they only have 1 guy.

Why the forged rotating assembly in a stock block?
OctaneGraphix
08-21-2012, 06:33 AM
Well thinking now that the forged assembly was a little overkill. I really didn't know the limits of the block going into the build. Another thing that sucks is that I can't swap this assembly intO a stronger block either. The mains are bigger I believe.
