S197 front ball joints

Car was in for an inspection and "failed" for bad front ball joints. Just over 50K on it. Keep reading the ball joints shouldn't be serviced, that it's better to just replace the whole arm. But then why can you buy ball joints by themselves from Steeda or Moog??? I'd rather spend the $110 for the ball joints and have my buddy press them in than spend $300+ for two new arms.

Any thoughts???

Heard the same thing with my Z06. I replaced them with a press at home with no issues. Not sure about your particular car, but I suspect it would be the same situation.

Garages got to love them. Theirs no need to replace the whole arm.
