I had an o/r mac h-pipe on my other car and it got surface rust all over it in two years with hardly any weather on it at all.
If I ended up with another aluminized Mac product, is it a good idea to spray it with high-temp paint or not? What are pros and cons? And, how should the surface be prepped?
thanks

I put high temp paint on my bbk x and so far its def helped. Only prep i did was to sand off all the rust from the previous owner and clean it up a bit.

Just buy a quality paint and be sure it's hi temp. It should last you a while just as long as you've done good prep work.

I had some black brake caliper paint left over when i painted my calipers a while back and i painted my stock mid pipe a while back and it held up great. Its good to 800 dagrees and its shiny with out having to bake it like other real high heat paint recomends.
