View Full Version : battery cut-off on 03 cobra!!!!!

So NHRA says the cut off must shut off the car when the switch is off. How do you do this? I tried to just run off the + side but when the car is running the car will not shut off, if you turn the switch off. Help!

Your switch also has to interupt the battery "excite" terminal on the alternator.

yea, Just get some 8 gage power wire and run it from the alternator to the battery in the rear and eliminate the stock wire. :goodidea:

Oh ok.... well I got welder cable..... So run it from the alt. to the battery then to the switch?

run it from the alt to the battery then just put the switch on your power wire going up front

What shut the gound off to battery and your done.I would think but got me thinking harder now. hmmm

Yeah, in theory, but in reality you risk spiking the PCM if you do this. You carburtraitinon guys had it sooooo easy back in the day!:laughing:
