What is the max power out of a stock bottom end and stock block has a 5.0 been that lasted a while and not just one of two dyno runs? :D

My buddy had one last forever at 600+ rwhp. He was waiting for it to blow and never did. He turned up the boost and made over 800 on his dyno about 10 times.....drove it and had a street race and the crack finally gave up.

Pretty impressive imo

Google DynoTune Motorpsorts in Columbus, OH. The car has an old Incon twin turbo setup on it.

I know of a handful of guys over 700 still running paxton setups. Hell theres one guy in altoona running over 700 with a roush tvs, Jason.

Now if you're talking bosses, plenty of those over 800.

Went9s ran around near 600rwhp forever, maybe he will chime in.

I have spun them past 7k making 347 NA. Never dynoed the blown hillclimb car, but it was tortured and finally let go when I missed a gear on track.

I believe Scott is referring to the pushrod variety of 5.0

In that case, I believe the blocks start to split around 500, but I only owned 1 old school 5.0, im not educated much in those.

You'll see a turbo 6.0 in a 70 Camaro come June. Should turns some heads. :biglaugh:

in my experiences with stock shortblocks we have bent the rods on them from exccessive boost. Stock blocks can go a long way if they are tuned right. excessive rpm and detonation is what kills em. I ran a 347 to 7000 and went 10's n/a and also had a stock shortblock and 60mm turbo go 10.20's with ease.both ofthem seen plenty of passes and lots of miles
