I've recently started my 5 speed swap on my 91 gt I'm looking for suggestions for a new clutch cable firewall adjuster and quadrant. The pedal assembly I have already has an aluminum single hook quadrant not sure what brand. I've also read it's better to use an OEM cable since they are heavy duty cables compared to aftermarket adjustable ones but not sure if I can use a single hook quadrant with an OEM cable any help would be great. Also I'm running an sve mongoose clutch just a step above stock.

I know a lot of people use UPR's quadrant because it has the 3 hooks.. I heard their adjuster, quadrant, etc is all pretty nice!

Ive been running a steeda double hook quadrant and steeda adjustable cable for a few years now and its great. Highly recommend it, no need for a firewall adjuster with this setup, i have a ton of adjustment with just the cable

I forgot all about Steeda. Their products are always pretty good quality!

I can get the steeda kit for like $109 comes with the adjuster to. I just don't have any experience with adjusting it properly. I've always had cars with hydraulic clutches

Its not that hard to adjust honestly. Im sure anyone on here would be willing to help ya if you need it. Im getting ready to order my new clutch, etc. The one my buddy had was easy to adjust. Im not sure which one that was though.

You can adjust the adjustable cable right at the clutch fork. Simply turn the nut to get it adjusted then get in the car and see how it feels. Once you think it feels OK, take it for a drive and make sure. you can see it in this pic...

That isn't a stock cable and you dont adjust it by "feel" you have too look in the inspection cover and adjust it until the TOB is almost touching or Just touching the Pressure plate fingers. I have read both that the tob is a constant velocity bearing and that it needs to not be touching. I have ran it both ways and I feel that letting it just touch the fingers is the way to go.

I know it is not a stock cable. If you would have read the thread, you would see that I am talking about a Steeda clutch cable. Also, you do not NEED to look at the TOB and see where it is at. I'm sure that is one way of doing it though... You can very easily feel the engage/disengage points on a cable operated clutch. You put it where it feels most comfortable to you driving it, but making sure it doesn't engage too low/too high so that you know it is fully grabbing and fully releasing.

I'm running a BBK adjuster and quadrant with a factory cable, I went through several aftermarket cables. They would only last a season or so. The factory cable works fine with the aftermarket quadrant, I think I had to trim an ear off the factory cable where it goes through the adjuster.

One other question for you guys since my car was never a 5 speed car how is the cable routed I've tried a couple different ways and can't seem to get it from hitting the primary tube on the header.
