1993 F-150 5.0 4x4
Bought my truck with an auto to manual swap. There's no reverse lights. The automatic trans plug is still there with 5 wires on it. The manual trans has a plug with two.

I'd like to hook it up the right way. Anyone know which wires are which? Only the yellow one has power, and the truck won't crank unless it's hooked up to the red/blue.

Is a switch in the cab for the reverse lights legal (inspection due)?

Here the auto harness:

Stop at your local Ford dealer and ask them to print off the wiring diagram for both. They will usually do it no questions asked. Hell Woltz and Wind gave us a book to borrow when we wired a terminator driveline into a Factory Five car.

Google is my best friend when I do things like these .

I would think that the two wire plug is just a switch. 12v in and run a line to the lights that should be grounded.

Or run 12v to the lights and us the trans as a switch for the ground.

I guess I have to start tracing wires. Hooked up power to all of them with the key on. No lights.
