What hp? Y do you want a 9inch? 8.8 is plenty up to mid 400s.

I'm starting a new build and I just wanna gather all the parts I'm going to need. I figure ill be some where in the 500hp range. That's my goal

8.8 proven good to 1000hp with proper assembly and parts. Lighter, cheaper, and maintains proper uca location

Ya an 8.8 with the right stuff will handle 500whp all day long. I got mine with the belief that I'll never break it. 33 spline strange axles with a spool, C-clip eliminators, welded tubes, and braces.

Yea I've heard that they can handle high hp numbers. But I was also going to tub it out so I could fit wider tires an I was told the only way to do that Wouk be a narrowed 9" with cool overs

You can narrow an 8.8 and use coil overs too. If you already have an 8.8 I'd use it. To be honest there are a lot of guys making more than 500hp and hooking it without narrowing the rearend.

So it puts them in the trash where they belong?
