Any good shops around that can port a lower GT40 intake?

I know Tmoss on Corral does it, but thought I would look a little more local before sending out west.

I would just send it to tmoss he does a great job and knows just where to blend and open up that lower

Tmoss is cheaper than the other two options I had been presented actually.

It will all depend on what I do for heads. no since in porting the intake if it is mated to GT40P heads. If I get better heads then the porting will make a difference.

it does help even with stock heads the intake is the restriction.

I would send it some where other than tmoss. We had to send one intake back three times because the area he welded you could see a lot of light thru. The porting looked good but the welding wasn't good. It's unfortunate too because years ago he did something for my car and it looked good. But this one the weld wasn't even really "bonded" well. It didn't have any penetration and was very porous. Fox lake we have had great experiences with. There is another local guy I can send you to if you would like some one local.

Why not sell the gt40 and take the porting money and get a better intake?

From what I found through online sources and reading, the GT40 flows very similar to the trick flow street I had looked at as well. I picked up a GT40 tubular upper/lower for a decent price. The TF outperforms the GT40 once over 5500 RPM and I do not expect this car to see a lot of that RPM range so the GT40 kind of worked.

I had primarily considered porting if I got the Explorer intakes, but I spent a little more on the tubular GT40 instead. But depending on what I do for heads I may still go and have this lower ported as well...

But all options are considered until I pull the motor lol

It may not be the best flowing intake, but damn...the tubular GT40 sure is the sexiest looking intake.

The plan was GT40P heads

I agree. I am trying to find a GT40 351W lower. very tough to come by for a realistic price.
