Yesterday my post was removed about the exceptional service I received from Dylan's Coatings in Plum. I'm not sure why, but I have no association with the vendor other than I am a very satisfied customer. Isn't this what we as members are looking for? Don't you want to know about great services for your car by CAR GUYS! I know that's the main reason I search forums is to find like minded people that can recommend exceptional service. Just because there may be a sponsor that offers the same service, doesn't mean we should not be able to discuss or recommend other services. When I posted "The Window tint guy" Last year, nobody objected and many, many members took advantage of his great price and service, and thanked me for posting it.
I know I want to hear about good deals and great service from any vendor, wouldn't you?

It would be nice to have a good/bad customer service thread on here. If that's allowed?

Well people pay good money to advertise on here, your post (thread) was a blatant advertisement. Not fair to the paying vendors. If you would have posted your good experience in an existing thread I doubt it would have been deleted.

Scott,
I sincerely understand where you are coming from and believe you when you say you have no affiliation with said company. The issue was it was a new thread, not just a random post. It was a blatant advertisement for a local based business which creates a direct conflict with one of our local based and reputable site sponsors. This site continues on because I purchased/invested stupid money into it, but more importantly, because our site sponsors pay money to advertise on here. Without them, this site goes away...period! I can appreciate that not all of our sponsors are convenient or an option for some of our members, and I'm surely not saying that we can't or shouldn't discuss other businesses or options for our members.
I hear what your are saying about the Tint Guy thread, it's a great thread!. The reason that thread still exists is because we do not have a site sponsor that specializes in window tint, and Kent is in the process of becoming a site sponsor!
I hope you understand where I am coming from and appreciate your membership but we are a very small forum in a big internet world. It's very hard to keep everyone happy and things fair across the board!
Thanks
Mike

Mike, I appreciate your response. Ive been a member here for many years, and as you know, I have brought my car to you for work and have been satisfied. Before you owned this site, I posted pictures and comments of my satisfaction with your service as well, just like Trent with window tinting and now Mark at Dylans coatings. I am hard to please, and when I am , I like to pass that on to "car guys". I understand the comment about sponsors, but I was not aware that sponsorship included exclusivity. So just for clarification, I cannot start a thread, but I can comment in an existing thread about powder coating?

Scott,
Site Sponsors don't get exclusivity but they do pay to advertise on here. It's one thing to share your experience or make a recomendation by posting in an existing thread. It's another to start a new thread for the sole purpose of advertising for a local business that is not a site sponsor and could be considered a competitor to one of our local site sponsors. I know you didn't mean anything by it, I understand why you did it but I can't have stuff like that on here. It has the potential to create an issue and that has been a problem on here in the past.
