Does anybody know about soldering circuit boards or more de-soldering. I need to replace some capacitors. I can't seem to de-solder components. I have an old radio I am practicing on. I tried a solder sucker. That thing doesn't seem to work well at all on small globs of solder. I also have de-soldering braid, which seems to work, but not good enough. If I use the braid it looks like all the solder comes out, but there is still a little left and the component won't release. I really don't want to send this board out to get fixed over a 50 cent capacitor.

Put the board in a vice, heat each side while pulling with a pair of needle nose pliers. Should pull out as soon as the solder melts all the way through. The solder sucker will remove 90% then it is alot easier to heat and pull the component. Practice, practice, practice makes it fairly easy to pull components.

Quick tip....add some fresh solder to the bead first to get it flowing, then use the braid or sucker to remove.
