I called to get some coverage on my vette through Hagerty. When we went through the mod list she basically said they can't insure it due to the car being caged.....
Just wondering who you guys go through for insurance with modded cars? I can get a policy through my current state farm coverage but if something happens I'd like to get more than book value since the car has way more into it...

Hagerty is horrible. And expensive. Be glad you won't be dealing with them. If you want, PM me and I can give you my buddy's number. He has his own insurance agency and my rates are about half of what Hagerty used to charge me for the same coverage.

Thanks Ron, I'll send you a pm. Yeah I just called Grundy and they were about half the cost of Hagerty, plus they will cover it..lol.

Wow, Hagerty quoted me online for half of what I'm paying State Farm for my car... Maybe I'll have to call Grundy then.

I pay $198 every 6 months with my Nationwide rep for a very comprehensive full coverage plan. He let me define how much coverage I want...for me, I am covered up to $8,000.
Wow I'm definitely over paying too. I pay 260 a month for full coverage on two vehicles.

Dan, I did a little digging about Grundy and it seems that people complain about their restrictions of driving....like staying overnight at a car show far away like Carlisle ect. Or even walking away from your ride when at a local show. Seems like it would be hard to enjoy a car like that.

Full coverage $700/year with state farm. The car is on limited insurance in the winter. So really I'm at $500/year. I've always been with state farm, it probably helps that I have a ton of things insured with them.

I'm in the same boat. The state farm quote was cheaper than hagerty and it has a 7500 mile limit which the car would never see anyways. All my cars are through state farm and anytime I ever had any issues they took care of it no questions asked. Never checked them because I figured they would be very high...

I pay $220 a year for my 1986 Mustang through Grundy with a $12000 replacement cost. They adjust the value of the car every year.

I pay $150 a month for full coverage on my Corvette and Jaguar XF Supercharged, and liability only on the F-150..... not too bad imho... The Vette is somewhat cheap to insure and the Jag is pretty pricey, so they offset pretty well.....

We have full coverage on my Mach 1, 13 focus, and 13 escape with Erie and it's around 1500 a year. I'll never switch because If something happens the office is local and I never have to jump though hoops to get something covered. I get them one estimate from where I'm getting it fixed and they pay it. The Mach 1 is on storage insurance for 3 months over winter.

Good point...Be sure to read the policy carefully. I opted to pay a little more for a better policy as there was some language that dictated travel restrictions, usage, parking, storage, etc. I was a bit concerned that I would be SOL if something happened when I was not in compliance. Admittedly, it was also convenient to just tack it on with my existing provider.

seeing some of these quotes make me want to look at some other companies... i pay right around 2800 a year through erie for full coverage on 2011 impala, 2012 subaru, 20k agreed value on my 1929 Model A, and $7500 agreed value on my two station wagons. from the sounds of it, i should be able to save a couple bucks i would think.

This is is why I have Allstate....local and a personal friend. I drop insurance on my car during the winter and he covers any issues as long as it's parked on my property. Doesn't have to be in a garage. Also if the weather is nice all I have to do is place a call and leave a message on his voicemail and I'm covered for the day. Plus I have no arguments on repairs or who fixes it. They have a massive file full of pics of my car which is a big plus.
