So I have always been skeptical of superchips, but I am exploring options now that I have an issue that might be fixed by a new chip/module. I am running lean as my Mass Air sensor is pegged out and not relaying the correct amount of air entering my engine.

Notable mods include 24lb injectors, cold air intake, performance intake, 306, e303 cam, Exploder head, headers, MSD ignition.

It seems I have 4 options.

1. "Custom" tune via SCT: http://www.americanmuscle.com/sct-4-bank-computer-chip.html

2. True custom tune via local shop/dyno

3. Affordable Generic chip: http://www.gfchips.com/ | http://www.autoanything.com/performance-chips/61A1777A0A0.aspx | http://www.performancechipsdirect.com/Ford/Mustang/

4. Upgrade MAF and forget the chip: http://www.americanmuscle.com/bbk-maf-24lbcai-8693.html

What are your thoughts? Any other chips/modules you would recommend? Would the $69 chip resolve my MAF pegging/lean issue?

What do you have now? The factory MAF? If not, how do you know its pegged?

Anyways....with those minor mods, upgrading to a new MAF designed for 24lb injectors should be all you need. I would get a Pro M mass air meter: http://www.promracing.com/mass-air-meters/75mm-plastic-bullet-un-flanged.html

I have the factory sensor mounted on a bbk intake. I keep throwing code 41 and 91 which indicates a lean condition. I feel like I have replaced all the usual suspects and MAF being pegged seems to be the last thing it could be. I will definitely keep that Prom M in mind.

codes could be from bad o2 sensors as well

If both O2 sensors are throwing lean codes then I bet the problem is upstream...doubtful that both O2 sensors would go bad at the same time.

I replaced the O2 sensors and cleared the codes a couple of weeks ago. My idle became less erratic after the change, but the codes popped up again. I also checked for vacuum leaks using TB cleaner. The lines are all pretty new and I noticed no change in engine idle when I sprayed around them.

I see. Well, you definitely need a new mass air meter if you put 24lb injectors on. Pick one up and your problems should go away, assuming everything else is ok.
