Well it's time to swap my trick flow heads on after my driver side head gasket blew out. I have all the gaskets I need other than head gaskets. I was just wondering what ones you guys like and have had good results with. One thing to keep in mind is I plan on spraying around a 150hp shot and I do have ARP head bolts.

Well I have the engine all torn down and found out why my driver side head gasket failed. When I went to pull the front lower head bolt it was already loose. I was like WTF, and pulled it out. Looks like it had broke right at block level about a month or so ago. Lucky I was able to use an easy out to get the rest of the ARP bolt out.

Ya, this is a first for me for an ARP bolt failing. I'm going to call them tomorrow and see if they'll give me another bolt. Heck she was only putting down a little over 200rwhp :)

With my latest combo, I am going to run the Fel Pro MLS gaskets.. Many of the big HP people run them with great success. But, the head and block surface has to be SUPER smooth for them to seal.. Almost like mirror smooth. If you can feel any ridges with your fingernail, it aint smooth enough..

I use just regular fel pro's. in MHO it's better to make the weak part your head gaskets. That way should something go wrong your gaskets fail first, instead of you having an internal meltdown. Cometics should guarentee you get down the track though if your looking to get down there one way or the other hehe.

Well here's the felpro gasket after I pulled the head off. I also called ARP and they told me to mail the head bolt back and they'd mail me one in a week or two. I asked if they wanted the other one's back just incase they fail, and they said nope. So I passed and had to order a new set so I didn't have to worry about them breaking.

Here's what she looks like far with the new TW heads and pro com rockers :) Just need push rods and she's almost done.

I was going to run 1011-2's on my car temporarily (I have a set of fel pro MLS gaskets for when the turbo goes on) and I sent them back and got 1011-1's per AFR's recommendation. The 1011-2's have a copper fire ring where the 1011-1 have a steel fire ring. AFR tells me that have seen to many failures of the 1011-2's after just the slightest amount of detonation, even on NA motors. The fire ring seems to rattle itself loose from the gasket material. I have no personal experience with this, but I figured I'd post this info here for you.

I always ran DG "orange" gaskets on my old combo and I loved them. They had a compressed thickness of around .035" but they are no longer made.
