I saw this trick and it works great. Some of you may already know about it. I bought a fabric steamer from Walmart for $20.00. Heat the tint up from the inside (Against the tint) with the steam and it peels off glue and all.

I will try your trick but when I did I used a razor blade, water, and went real slow. My Honda Accord had window tinting on it and an auto detailing professional told me NOT to use AMMONIA based window cleaner on them. There's a good reason for that. When I became tired of the tinting and it began to chip a bit, I sprayed on a popular ammonia based window cleaner and let it sit for just a few minutes. Not more than five to seven minutes....when the spray evaporated I did it again....I repeated this process three times.

Handheld steamer is what I use as well. I peel my entire windshield every year and it takes 15 minutes.

Spray with degreaser, cover tint with garbage bag (black) from inside. Park in sun for 20 min. Peels right off. Did wife's entire car in under an hour.

Noted. I have a garment steamer and my Cobra tint is in bad shape.
