This. I can't see how this car comes in much under 70k. The only thing it doesn't have (from what we know anyway) that the Z/28 does is carbon brakes and a dry sump. I can't see it hanging with the Z on track either unless they put a real tire on it, they are saying Michelin PSS when the Z comes with Pirelli R comps from the factory.

Well, if you go to the dealer and order the car they can't tack on premiums. If they order the car themselves thats a different story..

True... But most dealers are only allotted so many and they preorder their allocation. I would say that the majority of first year 350s will definitely see a markup.

Thats a rhetorical question if I ever heard one!
That's what I was getting at based on gmkiller's post. $53k is a lot of coin...for a Mustang...but I doubt these cars will be selling for that price. I bet we see $60-$70k or more on some of the first ones off the line. Sucks...but that's the way it usually goes.
Since the order sheets got leaked for this and the gt350r (no pricing though) I know of two dealers who said they will be selling these at Msrp. Looks like these won't be limited run cars but built per demand like the gt500 was.
My dealer friend didn't know if they were going to mark up the gt350r since again it's too early to tell but they're more of a volume dealer.
From what Dave perichak said at Detroit auto show was "there will be more of a price difference between a well optioned gt premium and a gt350 than there will be from a gt350 and a gt350r"
Then Jamal hamedi stated that the gt350r would be priced under the z28 and was slated to out perform it.
So his being said with Chevy having the 20% rebate out now on camaros and the z28 is covered I doubt ford is considering this. My predictions:
Gt350 base price will be right at $52k. Loaded $60kish
Gt350r base will be right around $60k and with the try package about $71-73k

526 flywheel hp @ 7500 rpm is a little disappointing to be truthful. Especially with only 429 flywheels tq
At that kind of rpm and today's technology I would have expected the # to be closer to 600 HP

After running a few #'s it does look as if the combo is near optimal.
Most street-able combos make apprx. 100 HP per liter as does this engine.
Now I wonder if the addition of exhaust, cai, and other normal bolt-ons pick up much power or if the combo is near maximized?

I can't wait to hear one at full song in person.
If 526hp from 5.2L is disappointing then 505hp with 7.0L is an outright disgrace then. Ford essentially one upped gm in the NA hp dept.
Just like the current 2015 iteration of the coyote that has proven to rev to 8000 once tuned, from a factory rev limiter of 7000. This engine is far from tapped out. The voodoo engine has the factory the rev limiter set to 8250. There have been videos of the engine on an engine dyno singing past 10,000 rpm. Headers, cai and tune it'll put out more hp with a high 8000/low 9000 rpm redline, It's also not commanding an aggressive amount of timing either in factory config.
Ford basically built a z28 killer for $11500 less if you want AC and $13,500 less if you want it like the base z28. This is for the R model.

although i'm not a big ford supporter the engine in the GT350 is pretty impressive. high revving V8 is always welcomed lol
not sure if it'll be a z28 killer though until I see some test results from the gt350. don't forget that still no news/info on what the gen 6 Z28 will have.
i'm still waiting to see how real the secret twin turbo V8 chevy tested is. rumor was a independent shop tested it and it dropped 808hp at only 8psi!
That v8 was reported by horsepower kings which is a click bait website. Not true.
Non of the American car manufacturers are releasing cars that are less potent than their competitors previous gen. The gt350 has been rumored to be running the ring in the high 7:20s to low 7:30s. As well as posting faster national track times as well. All rumors but when ford releases the numbers I am betting it will be ahead. It's no their thing to release something behind their competitor.

Well he was very wrong about the 1LE vs the 2015 GT Performance Pack. This years SCCA and NASA results show the gtpp beating up on the 1LE consistently so far.

I think we actually discussed this the one night at the bar lol

I didn't see that one, but the previous ones I've seen him in have been pretty reasonable and unbiased IMO. Hard to argue against a comparison with the same driver back to back on the same track. In the end they're both pretty great cars that are likely to battle each other pretty closely on any given day.

He did a comparison of the 15 GTPP and the 15 1LE. Essentially on that given day, the 1LE beat it in most categories. In real world racing in SCCA and NASA, the GTPP has been putting the screws to the 1LE.

As delivered from the factory the 1LE is superior to the GTPP, mostly because of tires and dampers, so in the real world those advantages can go away pretty quickly. Although I think a bone stock 1LE won nationals last year in the "stock" class F Street. The '15 GTs are all the rage now on the autocross forums though, still very limited parts available for them though in the "decent" suspension department. The factory dampers are terrible just like they were on the '11-'14s.

In actuality, the 1LE is not beating factory GTPP in competition so far this year. Now whether or not this is the stock class, I'm not so sure. The 1LE is losing to the GTPP in various road course leagues as well.
BMR has a good bit of suspension goodies out so far, from cradle, and differential bushings, various springs for drag and road course/auto-x, IRS lock outs, and Viking has adjustable shocks out for drag and handling.

Just curious where are you finding these results? There are autocrosses all over the country, and I'm not aware of many cars being raced (road racing) that are anywhere near stock. Even my ESP car has a ton of mods and it is about as unmodified as a "road race" car gets. Hard to compare modded cars to modded cars. Plus, which is an advantage to the Mustang for sure, for every Camaro I see autocrossed, tracked, hillclimbed, whatever, I probably see 20 Mustangs. They just barely seem to exist in that world from what I have seen.

Nice! Look forward to seeing what they can ring out at the strip. I bet 11.50's with good tires and a tune. From the look of their graph something is really holding it back after 5800 RPM or so. The torque drops sharply after that. Maybe a good set of headers will open it up.

Funny my buddy is having serious issues with his brakes at autocrosses. I haven't driven it yet but not sure if the pads just aren't coming up to temp or an "ice mode" issue like I have been having when it picks a wheel up.

6 piston brembos up front and 4 piston brembos on the rear
front rotors like 15.5 and rears like 14.9 specially designed for each side of the car
( 394 mm up front, and 380 mm out back for my Canadian friends )
cross drilled rotor with an aluminum hat
