the block is and old mexican block, (they are the same as the sportsman blocks), and we are using solid roller lifters with the connecting bar.

the truth is we were really taking it easy, 1st, my little brother was driving and it was pretty much his first time in the car and 2nd the tranny was slipping in high gear, we tore the tranny apart to find a cracked direct drum and totally smocked high gear clutches, the car felt so slow in high gear, you could have a cup of coffie wile in third gear. the mph at the 8th was 110.75 and at the 1/4 was 138.16, so we only picked up 28mph on the big end, and in my opinion should have been alot more...
