Anyone here play with the Rc stuff? Anything. Cars, trucks, planes, choppers. Boats. Anything really.
I have an HPI Baja 5b SS. 1/5 scale buggy. Runs on two stroke gas/oil. 31cc engine. Basically same thing that comes on a weedwacker or chain saw.

I used to fly a lot up until about 5 years ago.
Started when I was about 8 years old.
Did it all, 1/3 scale to indoor brushless stuff.
Def will get back into it again when I don't work so much.

I just had my Summit out for the first time in a while yesterday playing in the snow. That thing will go anywhere and is really fun to play with. It's awesome to see what it can crawl over in low gear with the diffs locked(which is pretty much anything that isn't vertical or that it doesn't high-center on) then you can flip it into high gear and rip around a little faster. I used to race my RC10T2 15 years ago, but I don't have time for that sort of fun anymore.
This is a pic of the Summit when I first got it propped up on a HBH liter mug to show scale and articulation, lol...
I always wanted to try flying something. Looks like a lot of fun. Right by my work, there is an R/C airfield. Its behind my plant. I'll sit and watch them fly all summer. Big stuff too.
Nice on the crawler!

Last one was an HPI super nitro. Had a Novarossi engine in it. Too much car for me, but it WAS a ton of fun.

I had a plane a while back. Nothing to special it was just a trainer but I had a ton of money wrapped up in it. I had it finally put together and was working on breaking in the OS .40 and someone broke into my house at the time and stole a bunch of things including all my R/C stuff and I just never messed with it anymore. I tinkered around with a few cheap electric R/C helicopters and that's it. I remember reading RCM magazine as a kid though.

There is a pretty nice RC airfield near New Florence, PA if anyone up that direction is looking for a place to fly. It's on private property but an guest pass will get you access.
That's like the one by my work also. I believe its invitation only. Its close enough that I can sit outside the office and watch them fly the whole day. Its amazing watching what they do.

Me and my son both have nitro and electric cars and trucks. I flew a plane once on a trainer box with a friend of mine. He is into the planes. He has built jets in the past, but quit flying them. He was getting nervous about the thought of crashing a $10,000 toy after watching one of his friends lose one.

I have a good friend that is big into rc cars.....has close to 30 different cars mainly electric and a couple gas. He even built a track in the back yard and has a weekly race during the summer.
I'm ride my bicycle all over that area. oh cool!! I'm at the landfill that's right on the bike trail. Actually, my company owns property on both sides of the trail right by the airport.

Didn't you get a few from me Glenn? Many years ago.
I would be pretty nervous with a $10k plane too!! I watched a few crash on the auction hunter shows! Disaster!

That's cool! I always just did the parking lot playing with them and the fields at work. Wanted to do the track sometime but never got the chance.

That's neat!! Is it an actual plane or a simulator?
As I recall, you're a pilot, right? For a big airline I think?

I have a few toys and also use to race electric RC10t and the gas RC10GT. Was big into R/C pulling trucks and was sponsored so I had to stop racing at the time.
Now I just build some crazy crap to have fun. Have a losi LST with full titanium hopups, flex teck arms, castle creation brushless motor and the list goes on. Only issue with it is that it busts diff cups almost everytime I have it out.
Second crazy build is a twin .21 engine dominator truck with LST suspension and ofna titan wheels. Its a bit custom to say the least. That thing is a freak! I had some one tell me it was the only scale moster truck that ran like a real one. It will back flip without moving a foot if you smash the throttle.

Here's my 5b. Took the wing off the back. Left my company phone, a Samsung, for size comparison.
The trains...on the platform is an old Lionel set. Two steamers. One is real old and the other is newer. Old one is great, newer one is pretty shitty.
The oval track, it's a brand new diesel locomotive. "Santa" brought it for my Lil man. Its made by rail king and runs on the Lionel type track. Radio controlled.
"Santa" didn't spring for the big fancy radio remote. Just the one that comes with it. Very realistic. Smokes like crazy, talks to dispatch, horns, sounds. Its amazing. Just way too much money!!! Even with my discount.

My dad is hardcore into model railroading. He makes a lot of his buildings. He has a lot of MTH trains. All of the trains on his layout run off of one remote. He's doesn't run the old Lionel units too much anymore. Just displays them. He still has the first Lionel he got when he was a kid. Here's his setup so far. It's always a work in progress.

That's awesome!! Mine is the MTH also. I almost got the CSX locomotive set but went for the BNSF instead. I refused the NS mainly because my crazy ex wife works for that company!! Haha. I'm probably going to do the same thing...as in not run the Lionel much and use the MTH rail king more.
Your dad has that huge remote box, doesn't he?
The realism and our get from these is completely amazing!
I like how your dad has the dead locomotive for push/pull also. It might be large enough next year for me to justify getting one like that.

He has a handheld remote with a screen on it. Not sure. I was mistaken too. The top steam engine runs separate from the rest. I like how he made the balast along the track. I think he mixed it with diluted elmers glue to keep it in place. He also has debris like old ties laying along the track. I'll get some more pics when I go up there again. I think he has a zombie hord attacking a police car right now on there haha.
Also if you like steam engines this is a good watch. You can ride this train from Cumberland MD to Frostburg MD and back. It even has a working turntable in Frostburg.

Ollies around my area had NASCAR Lionel sets very reasonable. They came with everything. Even if you don't like racing you could paint them the way you want them.

I figured it was intentional when I saw it at the beginning. I was waiting for the recovery but the ground happened too quickly.
Was it damaged badly?
