Just curious of shooting locations. The range I used before moving away in 2003 is closed. Now that I am back there doesn't seem to any options near the airport.
I do all my shooting at my work. Depending on what I'm shooting. Handgun I have a couple real nice spots. On with a makeshift pipe rest for accuracy but its only about 40' or I have unlimited up to about 100yards off hand. I can easily get 300 yards for distance but for my rifles, its just getting warmed up!! I want more. I want 1000.
I can play with the 300 though for a little bit.
Seeing as you basically know where I work, if yoy want to shoot me a pm. This isn't an open offer to the whole community though. I can have 2 or 3 buddies come out. I don't wanna piss off the powers at hand. Mark was also asking about some shooting places.

On the farm. Mile long private drive. My Dad purchased all of the neighboring land so there's tons of room to play.

It really is guys. I'm not trying to be a douche , there's just too much liability to bring people in for this kind of stuff. If it was entirely up to me I wouldn't care

Fully understandable!! No offense taken at all.

You just have to understand how often people ask to come shoot and/or hunt.

So there is no where to shoot. I though there was an indoor range at one time near Robinson?

Yes, it would. Just from those site alone would pay the bills. Everybody else would be profit. It was om Campbell's run road.

There is a small indoor range right off of 119 right by PSU Fayette. Been open for 20 years but guy just put out a sign and he wonders why no one knows he has been there. I personally haven't shot there yet, but my friend has and said its very reasonable, clean, and can shoot your own ammo.

A&S is right next to my dad's office and he's been there a few times. It's pretty nice. They run some deals through things like groupon occasionally. That's the only public one I know of in the area though.
I'm a member at Logan' s Ferry Sportsmens Club (http://www.logansferrysportsmens.com/) in Plum. It's a pretty nice place, but quite a drive from the other side of the city just to shoot some rounds. They have a fair number of ranges, some of which allow full auto if you have any. I've never had any trouble finding an open range. I went up 2 weeks before rifle season to sight in, expecting to have to fight for a bench... and I was the only one there. They also have an indoor range which is ONLY open to members (no guests).

There is a nice place in WV not more than 25 minutes away from my place. It's laid back, open to the public, and far enough out in the sticks that a lot of people don't know about it. You can use exploding targets and other stuff usually not allowed on ranges but the only bad part is it's only out to 100 yards.
I also have a Pa range permit and use it for the Pa range in Wexford game lands. They just put in a separate handgun range as well. It's nice but pretty busy most times. Gotta follow the rules there as there is a Range-master on hand or nearby most times.

I can vouch for this place. Nice outdoor and indoor ranges. I don't know how far the outdoor range was, but it looked like at least 300 yards.

If I remember right, you have access to the game land ranges if you have a hunting license too. I tried that once a couple years ago and every bench was taken. (This was right after they implemented the requirement to have a license or range permit.)

Had a buddy get a $185 fine this fall at a state game lands range. I guess they have a 5 shot limit on handguns and he fired 6 rounds out of his pocket .380. Range master was counting and would not cut him any slack.

(c) Exceptions for a handgun range. At a Commission range specifically designated as a handgun range, it is permitted for an individual to load and discharge a handgun containing a maximum of six rounds of single projectile ammunition at any one time. Other rules and regulations pertaining to shooting ranges under Commission ownership, lease or jurisdiction shall be in effect.
Wow, that's crazy, I didn't even know they had these kinds of restrictions.

Last time I was at the State game lands in Wexford there were some.... guys there with 30 round magazines in their Glock 19's with no concept of clearing the range to check paper. This was probably 2009. Never went back.

Yes it's pretty busy unless you secure your spot early. I had originally thought that I would be able to target shoot on the game land property. Found out this is not the case and it must be on a state run range.

As far as I know it is 3 in rifle and 6 in handgun at a time.

Even my carry gun holds 7+1 rounds with the smaller magazine. Certainly an easy thing to run into if you aren't aware.

There is a club beside Bradys Run Park, Beaver County. Half hour from Airport. I think membership is cheap. I shot indoors there years ago. Pretty sure there is indoor and outdoor still. My son in law is a member, I will get some details if your interested.

Yes same place. I toured the place but did not join yet. Kinda a little bit too far and having a free place to shoot has been fine at least for now.
