Nice car Matt. Can't wait to see how it goes as you mod.
We have a used '14 GT-R here at work in black with 3k miles on it. It's listed at $79k so I don't know what I could get it for. If it was not black I would have it in my stable already. Can't stand black and dark colored wheels though. Not even sure if that is a good price as I am not actively looking.

Mark that is actually a fairly good price for Western PA. Nissan has Dealer cash out on 14 and 15 GTRs.
Which for the first time has hurt resale values a tad and its Winter to boot.

Hes in the process of re-doing his trans and clutches now. Car will be capable of flipping a switch and becoming RWD only once this next round of mods are done if I understand correctly.

He did my initial tune which was great, then I changed a few things and needed a re-tune so like a dumbass I gave Early Performance a chance to tune it as they were basically begging me to do it and offered me a pretty good deal. Well giving them the car and letting them have it 4 separate occasions to try to get the tune right they were unable. The couldn't get the car to idle, kept stalling, ran so damn rich that the back of my car was completely black, the drivability was garbage. Early Performance blamed everything under the sun for their tune garbage tune....tried to say I got bad gas, my fuel pump was going out, that my cam was to big and it wasn't possible for it to idle, etc....
I finally cut my losses with those jokers and like I should have done initially went to Ed Hutchings and with one single emailed tune with NO datalog for him to go off of, he nailed the tune down 1 billion % better than the clowns at Early. The car idled perfect, never stalled again and wasn't super pig rich. Ed was able to nail the tune down 90% finished and car runs fantastic on 1 single try while the Early jokers had my car for weeks and couldn't get the car tuned whatsoever.

By the way they act at the FLDs you would think they are all godly or something. I was paired up with the blue eclipse in the finals, cant remember the owners name but he is part of the shop, a few years back and got the..."No one can out launch my awd dsm bla bla bla." I drilled him at the light then went up in smoke and a little sideways. I gathered it back up only to run him down enough that I think he used his nitrous because he blew engine parts all over the track." Boy did he give me a dirty look afterwards, like I made him blow his car up or something. That was one of my run in with these guys that I remember best. Might be because it was my only front row seat I had to watch engine parts bouncing all over the track.

Funny because when I first saw the parts I thought they looked like they had been heated before, but the welds almost look like they were done by machine not by hand. Too nice.

I prefer jack stands to keep the car from rolling/moving. I tried to cheat in my younger days and almost had an issue so I will not be trying that again. Be careful when you are working on your cars guys!
Race Ramps sells a very nice setup but its a bit $$$.

I need to look these up. Very cool idea If they can keep the car from rolling off.
Sorry to hear that. I have been in your shoes a few times.
I raced a black early car (I don't know if it was an early customer, or a shop car) and the guy straight up said I didn't have a chance... I half tracked him. When we came back around he said his car broke. They don't seem to build very reliable cars.

Nothing is is really super tight under the car.

I guess the fact the wood is under the tires makes it similar to what a jack stand would be. Never really thought about that. Crazy how those bolts get seized up in there. Especially when the underneath looks new still.
Is it twisting at all? Did you spray pb blaster or liquid wrench on it? If you dont want to use a torch on it, you could also try a heat gun. I sometimes slide my jack's handle over the back of the ratchet too, you can sometimes get it in a position that a breaker bar couldn't fit in (like a 160deg angle.)

If you tune rich for e70 in the winter (like .4 richer than normal), it would be fine for e85. You just cant push it to the very edge like you can with race fuel. We only get about one or two months of true 85% up here, most of the time its 70 or 78. Flex fuel cars have trouble starting in the winter on e85, thats why they lower the amount of ethanol in the winter.
Here is the chart of what gets shipped when:

Shitty comment? I hope the OP didn't take it as shitty and don't care if you did. Just saying good for him and a few of us on here would have to sleep with one eye open. He is a lucky guy if you ask me or a majority of the people on here.
I think your just bent about me commenting on crossing my fingers for you. lets take it to another post.

Other threads towards me from you, and actually no, I'm not afraid of you in the least.

Man, I've spent a lot of time looking at those screens lol. Glad to see you getting up and running. So he sent you a canned tune for the car to run without DPs, correct? Had a chance to take it for a spin?
He he said I'm to drive it out to get the DPs installed.
Just dont send him any logs until it's done.

Can it get a single pass in the 9s? Most likely. Can it run consistently? Not in my opinion. At least not at full weight with factory turbos. The trans is limiting as is the factory turbos.

I am trying to learn about these cars. Is the factory trans setup to protect itself from being over powered? I remember you saying something in a post about launching your car at the flds and having issues.

Yes.
That's impressive. I have to hand it to the people that designed these cars. Hey Ford pay attention.

They do have a transmission that has run 9s and even 8s stock. It's called the 6r80.
Now the 6r80 is an amazing automatic. It's still no dct.
The tremec tr9007 seven speed dct that the ford gt has will also most likely be impressive.

Yes.
That's pretty awesome how fast these cars get on the stock trans/turbos!

I'll do upgraded factory turbos and a budget tranny build next Winter.
Thats as far as I'm going with the car.
After that the prices are even more outta me league.

The factory clutch assembly uses 7 friction plates and at the factory pressure, it begins slipping around 600tq. You can up the pressure to create more clamping on the 7 friction plates, but then you risk blowing the seals in the trans. Running a different transmission control module, can reduce the clutch engagement window, dropping temperatures, which allows for more clamping force--this could hold you around 600-650tq.
Then the problem becomes running 9s with a 4,000lb (with driver) car with only 600 or so whp and tq. The factory turbos will make peak boost of around 22psi on ethanol, but that occurs at around 4k rpm--they bleed off boost to redline down to 15-16psi. When making a run, once the turbos peak boost in 1st gear, it bleeds down once you exceed for 4k rpm and the shifts never take you below 5,500 rpm therefore you're not seeing peak boost for the majority of the run (more importantly, the back half).
The only way to overcome this is by either:
A) replace the factory turbos with something that has a larger wheel to make more boost at higher RPMs or
B) reduce weight
Option B is an interesting proposition because not only will reducing weight make it easier for the said HP to move the car more quickly, but it also eases the stress on the transmission to clamp and pull the car out of the hole. This will keep the clutches cooler and more grip getting the most power to the ground.
So in the end, a factory turbo, full weight, factory transmission GT-R will have a VERY difficult time pulling a 9 off. Maybe a hero pass at MIR one time, but certainly not consistently. Change any one of those 3 factors (factory turbo, full weight, or factory transmission), and it becomes a different discussion. Again, just my opinion and perspective from my testing experiences.

We have all said that. Just look at my car for an example. Oh a ported factory blower is all I need, lasted a few years. Oh this 2.2 kenne bell will be all I ever need, that didn't last as long as the ported eaton. Oh this turbo kit on a factory trans will work for me. Nope lets upgrade to a built th400. Oh the car cant hook up with the IRS, lets go to a built solid bla bla bla
One secret us car guys know...Its never enough. We just cant stay happy unless we are building and going faster. The good news is that parts come down in price after time. That is the only way I can get some of the stuff I have.
