Stay with Mach 1 hood or go Cowl Induction

I have had a Mach 1 hood on my 1986 Mustang GT for about 12 years. I used to have a Cervini Cowl hood that I sold. I actually picked up another Cervini Cowl hood.

What do you all think...Mach 1 or Cowl Hood?

If I go cowl hood I am not sure if I will put GT stripe on it like picture 2.

I think the car will look too plain with an all-white cowl hood.

Not sure what I like more - the Mach hood or cowl with the black GT stripe. I'd probably go with what was currently on the car and put the $$ to more mods.

Well no matter what I do it will never be as nice as your sweet 1988 Mustang. That Stang was one of the nicest fox body I have ever seen!

I'm not a fan of the cowl hood ... I say keep the hood you have one (which looks GREAT) or go back to stock with the GT stripe.

My vote would be cowl hood with stripe. Not a 4 eye front, but atleast it's white with a black stripe for reference

Honestly, the Mach 1 hood on a fox almost makes me wanna vomit. They look absolutely horrible. Go cowl.

Engine still not together and I am still part shopping. I am juggling a lot of stuff. Hopefully I will have it together by spring. The heads will be a very nice addition to the "budget 302 street engine".

The cowl hood is really pulling away from the Mach 1 hood. Here is a picture (of another 1985-1986 Mustang) with the stripe!

I like the cowl with the GT vinyl logo on it so that it looks OEM. However, a small part of me likes the different look of the Mach 1 style hood as I never see that one.

You cant beat a cowl hood on a foxbody, but the old mach one hoods like that are still good looking and you dont see them much anymore which imho makes it more desirable.

The change would be to add some clearance and go back to a "a little more stock" look to the car. The cowl with the GT stripe was where I was leaning. The poll results are also leaning that way too. The Mach 1 hood is also different look. Cervini makes the ram air duct for 87-93 Mach 1 hoods but does not do it for the 83-86 Mach 1 hoods. My hood would have probably looked better without the black access stripes going so far down on the hood. Looked pretty good coming at you!

I already have the cowl hood. I would just need to get it painted.

I have been out of work for four months so no extra money to play. The weather finally broke and I wanted to put the Cervini Cowl on the 86 GT. Hood is still red,

I was on the HO Fiberglass Trend webpage and looked at their 83-86 Mustang cowl hood. I actually liked the HO Fiberglass Trend 2" cowl shape better than the Cervini. The pictures of the white LX coupe and the red 84 GT with the plate saying HO is the HO Fiberglass Trend hood.

The HO Fiberglass Trend hood is a 2" high cowl hood where the Cervini is a 2 1/2" cowl hood.

Note: This is my second Cervini 2 1/2" Cowl hood that hits my Kenny Brown Strut tower brace. The 1 1/2" Mach one hood was fine. Go figure. To use the cowl, I'll take off the strut tower brace.....unless I get a HO Fiberglass Trend hood lol!

Here is the Ho Trend hood I want. I may sell the Cervini cowl hood and my Mach 1 hood for 83-86 Mustangs. I keep hoping on getting another car but that seems to be a dream!
