Amazing movie...Makes you think long and hard about the struggles our service men and women have to go through over there.

Yes we saw it opening weekend as well. It was a very good movie. I think it will win something this year. Makes you feel for the ones in the service.

Saw it last night.

the audience applauded when the credits rolled.

The film is a vivid illustration that Freedom isn't free and we're so lucky to have heros like Chris Kyle.

It was great. Lot of liberties taken with the movie as most of it was made up by the writers in interest of making an entertaining movie but a good look into the stress of war.

Well we went and seen it last night and I gotta say that was the best movie that I have seen in a very long time! Bradley Cooper did an amazing job and another grand-slam from the king....Clint Eastwood!

Only thing that threw me off was them making it look like the Iraq war was in direct response to 9/11 and so was Kyles reason to join the armed forces. Kyle joined the Navy in 1999, someone made all of that up.

Either way still a entertaining movie.

At the beginning when him and his brother were watching TV, it showed the US embassy attacks in Africa in 1998. That's why he joined. Later on, it showed him and Taya watching the 9/11 attacks on TV. He was already in the Navy at that point.

Jessie Ventura sued Chris Kyle and the book over a story in the book. Chris Kyle claims that Jessie Ventura came to a funeral for another SEAL in San Diego. Afterwards, they were at a bar and Jessie Ventura make some remarks that Chris and his buddies didn't like. Chris says in his book that he knocked Ventura out or something like that. Ventura says none of this happened and sued him for defamation of character and won... to the tune of $1.8M. The timing of the settlement was junk... it was about a year after Kyle was killed. So, whether it happened or not, Ventura kind of looks like a real jerk right now. And, he's still running his mouth about it. :(

not over the movie, but over him supposedly saying he beat up jessie in an interview or his book or something. Kyle was supposedly a bit of a fabricator.... take a look at his wiki page. He also supposedly claimed he shot looters from the top of the new orleans bowl during katrina

Ah, that's right. Still didn't like the 9/11 to Iraq jump.

And yeah Kyle liked to tell tall tales, like shooting 20 looters in Katrina or killing 2 guys at a gas station that tried to car jack him, even tho there was 0 evidence that ever happened.

In the movie they say he enlisted at 30, he actually enlisted at 25 I believe. Regardless, one of the best movies I've seen.

This was a movie, not a documentary so I am sure some facts where spiced up and other made up but that doesn't take away from what our men and women do to protect this great country and how their actions/decisions stay with them for the rest of thier lives. That is what I took away from this movie.

WORD, Dude! It says "Based on a True Story", not "The exact true story". Don't understand all these other guy's issues. I did some research on the guy when I heard he got killed, saw the movie and I think the guy is a damn hero. Maybe, he ain't perfect. Tell me, who the F is? If you were a SEAL or something, then maybe you got a right to say something negative about the guy. If not, I say shut your face. :biglaugh:
