View Full Version : Bacon
I usually make bacon in the microwave for breakfast, but I was told to try it in the oven. I don't think I'm going back, it was awesome!

We also now cook our bacon in the oven. Only issue is the smoke detector tends to go off even though there's no smoke. It's now the bacon detector. The kids (and I) come running when it goes off.

Bacon is pretty much amazing no matter how you cook it, but my favorite is on a stick over an open fire... let a little of the fat drip on a fresh slice of rye bread, with a homegrown country tomato and some lettuce and you will experience a little piece of heaven! Damn, now I really can't wait for the weather to break for some Saturday night campfire cooking!

Well yeah we get that too. We run to the Farm usually once a week to buy ground beef, milk and bacon from them all the time. Home delivery is cheap for people not 10 minutes down the road.

I have been saying for years.
My road to billions is a perfect replication of bacon (taste, texture, smell, etc) with zero calories and zero fat.
People would buy that by the ton, even if it gave you a wicked case of ...... well, use your imagination.
With that said..

Without the smoke, wouldn't it just be pork belly?

It looked darker than regular bacon, I'll have to investigate next time I'm there.
