Yea it seemed really fast. I've never done one before, but the people I talked to that have really liked it.

My best was 46.3. For a completely stock car with 350 miles and my first time ever doing it, I'm happy with it.

Still shocked how many people are coming out this year. I rarely go to NHSCC events, just trying to get some seat time in the car before I hillclimb it, and so many people show up we only get 4 runs.

Walked through the pits and watched from the park for an hour or so. Saw Marks car and cwh's.. nice rides.

Had all intentions on running but ended up sleeping in and wouldn't have made it in time... Went for a ride in the Vette and stopped up, was gorgeous out. Planning on coming out Sunday.

Humm looking at the rules it looks like I could run CAM as well? Not sure where else I would run, guess I should look at the other classes. Car has full exhaust, intake, Z51 Brakes, Z51 sway bars and Z06 shocks.

Cam sounds right, or you would go to ASP. Cam likely a better fit for your car.

Pretty sure c5, c6 and c7 corvettes were banned from the class

Yeah ridiculous turnout. Usually when I show up to an NHSCC event once or twice a year it's to run someone else's car there are like 70 people. I ended up at 37.4, I think on better tires it could've been in the low 36s, but not quite enough to catch the Evo but that car is ridiculous anyway (and in another class).

Yep good to meet you and GTR matt as well. I thought the track was great, and finished 2nd in cam with a 36.07. It was a great day, except for Matt's driveshaft lol.

I have always found just leaving in second to be faster (couple exceptions, Honda S2000 being one) especially in a torque monster like a c6. Does the auto hold second if you ask?

Yep I can put it in 6th at 50mph and put the pedal to the floor and it won't shift... It never shifts for you even banging off the limiter for 10 seconds (ask me how I know) unless you're in too high of a gear when stopping. Did my first run completely in second with a friend riding shotgun who won STR in his Miata... I asked him if he thought 2nd or 1st and he said if I wasn't hitting the limiter he'd stay in first.... Guess I didn't think his Miata makes a lot less power. I see a lot of opportunity in my video where I could have been on gas if I were in second vs first. Sucks when you see all your mistakes next day and can't get another crack at it. lol. Still had a blast.

Planning on going to the one on Memorial Day weekend.

Even in my slow 3 valve going back into first always turns into a drift session. I have thought about putting 4.10s into my car just to help me be higher in the power band in 2nd.

Yes, much easier to modulate the throttle in 2nd, plenty of torque even down around 2K IMO.

MineralGT I would be more concerned with having enough gear to go ~65 in second. I ran into the limiter at 76mph in 2nd multiple times last week.

Even the gutless Lotus Elise I drove last year didn't require a shift down to first, most of the time I just don't find it necessary.

Mine does the same. It won't shift up for you but will downshift to not stall.
