on the 370 forum, my one friend has been pumpin any and all info about the new Camaro and I am slightly interested to see it.

so far it's smaller, lighter, stiffer, and more power. sounds like a winning combo if they get the looks right.

also when he posted a leak of a Michigan tuning shop that did an independent dyno test for chevy said the 1LE or whatever model may get this Frankenstein twin turbo V8 that put down 800+ on 8psi of boost.

but it's an unconfirmed leak so who knows.

what would a '15 GT run with sticky tires ( some people say this is still "stock" ), a good driver, great track, and mineshaft air?

I'd think around 12.4 or 12.5 at best - probably at around 112 - 113? What do you guys think?

the same. Tonight I ran 12.2 at PRP, he was somewhere else.

I will have to say that I am sorry to Mr. Troll & everyone else
for messing up this thread about what I am sure is going to be
a very nice car. But Tim's car has new wheels & tires, he cut
off the resonators & he is tuning it. No bolt ons. He's going
for a good base line tune for his customers. That car is more
stock than my DD. Heck, my wife's car & I'm thinking just
about everyone else's car on this site. I just thought that
running that well was pretty cool.

Best showroom bone stock 2015 Mustang GT time is 12.4 Thats factory tires as well. The average time is 12.7, whereas the average "best" time is 12.5. These cars are crippled with torque management from the factory, once tuned, they usually can shave a half a second off. Clutch protection on the manuals really neuters their launches, and torque management on the autos kills the shift firmness and schedule. As well as the aggressive IAT vs spark tables and how it closes the throttle above 5500 rpm.

The ss won't be gt350 competition. Gt350 is meant for the current and future z28 if there will be one.

If there is a zl1 it will go against whatever new gt500/cobra gets released.

The new Camaro has been confirmed to be 200lbs lighter. That still puts it a little heavier than the current mustang. But it has a better power curve. So for a year or so they should be even.

The coyote is due for a refresh shortly and will most likely get direct injection for the 17 or 18 model year. They have been ready for it for years.

Opening the gun shop cost alot more than I thought it would, combined with the fact I never had time to drive it (1k miles last year) figured it was logical to let it go. Bought a WS6 after I sold it so I have something to drive when the weather is nice. Plus figured that as all I needed to still be faster than Philly :)

There were 4 new yenko Camaros police escorted through Canonsburg Thursday. They took some photos of the cars in front of the old Yenko building by the old dairy queen. I got them rolling in on video and I told the guy driving a white one to let me hear the tvs. Sounded good. Only 50 made I understand and a bargain at 130k......lol. got some pics ill post too. Not a fan of the Camaros but those were the best looking ones ive seen to date.

2016 Camaro 2SS (leather/loaded) is said to be almost 200lbs lighter depending on the model than the 2015 outgoing model. I've seen curb weights for the 2015 to be from 3875-3925, so we'll say the 2016 will be 3675-3725


2016 Mustang GT is rated at 435hp/400tq
2016 Camaro SS is rated at 455hp/455tq


2016 Mustang GT in Performance Pack form, comes with 3.73's, and with the MT82's aggressive gearing. It has gear options of 3.31, 3.55, and 3.73 for the manual.

Going to disagree. Gearing makes a major difference. The lt1 also doesn't breath as well as the coyote does nor does it have the available rpm band.

It'll be a close race. The extra torque will definitely help equalize it.
