Anybody ever been to Watkins Glen for the Nascar race?

Havent been to Watkins Glen, but have been to a few other tracks, and the GA is always the way to go. You can only sit and watch from the same view for so long. It's nice (and cheaper) to grab a beer and walk around.

I went to Watkins Glen for the 1992 SAAC convention. Totally different kind of event, but that was an awesome trip. Cobras and GT40's and Shelbys running balls-out all weekend. Good times!

Thanks guys... going the GA route. Just booked that shit. Staying 50 miles south of the track in Mansfield, PA. Shorter ride home on Monday morning and found this cool brewery... http://www.yorkholobrewing.com/

nothing better than smelling race gas and drinking beer !!! I am not a big fan of Nascar road courses, but Wifey is all hot and bothered about Jeff Gordon retiring and thinks he might have a shot at winning this race. It is kind of funny to watch these heavy, cumbersome "stock" cars fight their way around these tracks.

Been all up through that area of NY for work, it's a nice drive around there. If you were going back home the other way (86 to 90 to 79) you could stop at Southern Tier Brewing which is along the way.

Man, those flat-plane V8s sound freaking awesome. I was driving my truck in manual mode 3th and 4th gear 80MPH 6,000RPM 50 miles back to hotel after the race (the first pic is just turning over 15K on way there). bawahahaha I'm fuct. I'll be financing something stupid.
