Not a new best but it was knocking on the door hard and it's not even fall yet :jump: Installed my Strange stuts at track today before making a pass and it was well worth missing the first round pass today. Car launches so much better then it did with Lakewood 90/10 fox body spec'd struts. The Strange's are SN95 length and the extra inch of travel was noticed on my first attempt as it carried nose of car high well past sixty foot with them on the softest setting. Before it came up but settled way to soon. Other thing that has seemed to help big time this year is the addition of the K&N FIPK cold air kit(Summit version but same thing) as car seems to be breathing better.

I was thinking the car would run a 12.57 to 58 this year but now with a few other things to do I'm thinking it will run 12.50 maybe slightly quicker on the stock engine. Should run 12.teens with a cam change and 11.90-12.0 with head work and intake change. Cams are a possibility this year but intake and heads won't be.

today's runs

12.724@104.77, 8.081@84.17 with a 1.69

12.779@106.83, 8.154@84.18 with a 1.71 spun off line, fuel on track from previous car. I figure car should have run a 12.70 had it not spun.

12.730@108.68, 8.115@84.28 with a 1.68

108.68 mph should be enough to e.t. in the .40's. Might need more gear:veryhappy:

Yah it most certainly needs more gear. 4.56's are probably what's going in it. I know of a '99 Gt from North carolina that is running 12.40's on a stock 2v motor. It is setup similer to mine but uses 4.56 gears and suspension is tweaked a little better then mine.

What do you attribute the MPH gain from 104.77 to 108.68 to? The eighth MPH only picked up from 84.17 to 84.28. Is that a different lane or shift points or.....?

I thought the 104 was low(maybe high 105, mid 106 is what it should have turned) for the ET it ran but first and second passes were out of right lane and last was left lane. Was a slight breeze today but not enough to make it run 108 unless something crossed beam just before my tire did. As quickest ET and mph I ever ran before was Oct.15 2005 and there was a 25+mph tail wind that day. Car ran 12.71@106 and later ran 107+mph with the heavy tail wind.

Shift points are 5700 and I launch at 5500. Only thing I changed was to soften right rear shock on third pass today. Kept slicks at 12psi on all passes and front tires at 50psi.

Yeah, a near 4 mph gain with minimal e.t. loss or gain caught my eye, especially when the eighth did not fluctuate much. I've heard and even experienced myself some mph change as you experienced when changing lanes at PRP. Makes me wonder if either are correct.

during opening day, the SS varied 2mph difference in the two lanes. that left lane is faster for some reason

In the eighth or the quarter, or both?

I really noticed that last year, like you said, nearly 2 mph. Funny thing last Sunday and today, ran 2 in the right, 2 in the left, besides my mistakes, passes were within a half a mile per hour regardless of lanes. I actually lost some MPH today, thought it was because of the right lane, went into the left and ran the same number.

60' times are a whole different discussion. Anyone else noticing anything there?

I have always noticed a slight difference from left to right in 1/4 mph but usaully only about 1mph it seemed. 1/8 mph has always been consistant for me. I'll see how it goes sunday since I will be there for regular racing. Think weather should be a little better too.

Last year I would run 4mph fast in the right lane but the exact 1/4 mile ET, but I would 60ft 1.57 in the left and 1.60 in the right.

This year both lanes are identical for me but my 60ft just isn't as fast as last year it is only 1.61 in both lanes. They probably have it at 62ft this year.

What do you figure your putting down RWHP?

Ares

Never been on a dyno but I'd guess over 270 to the wheels :scratchchin:

I'm thinkin' 285-ish RWHP. It's a nice departure to see a E.T./MPH package that is efficient. Easy high .30's, .40's at Cecil County break-a-record Dragway;)

Ares

LOL that is one thing I want to do is go to Cecil this year. Well that and Atco also. All my passes so far this year are correcting to mid to low 12.40s. So going to a track that is known for good air and traction will be fun.

Well, those tracks are the SH$T. And if there is a weak link present in the total package one brings to a track of that caliber it's sure to rear it's ugly head. On a 5-Liter that was making roughly 315-320 SAE RWHP the track had big enough teeth in the starting line to rip two UPR uppers in half:D And after you make a couple hits at either of those tracks, you'll be wondering why you had not been there sooner and contemplating ever going back to PRP.

I've seen as much as 4mph difference...right lane is slower mph but ET seems to be accurate.
