That would be a good carburetor to run on my 289 small block? This car is not for racing. 500cfm or 600cfm and why?

I really do not think you will notice a difference between either carb.
I would pick the 600 because bigger is better. :)

If the motor is built at all, I'd go with the 600. You can always put in smaller jets if needed.

I assume you mean vac secondaries and not double pumper?
If it is a mild street motor and you don't plan on modding it further I'd say go with the 500. Too much carb ( fuel or air ) isn't a good thing. Lots of very snappy small blocks out there are running 500 cfm carbs.
