I had a thread on this before but all the pictures died with Webshots when it went away ...

a while ago, we picked up a 93 Vert for must wife's toy. We had the paint and body done, re did the interior, all making it look fast although it was only a 2.3, A4LD car ... Potentially the slowest fox ever built ...

in in the end, it came out really nice and turns heads as far as looks ...

I had rounded up the parts to Turbo Swap it for her ... I had a fresh short lock, C4, and some of my old parts like aluminum driveshaft, my ported turbo manifold, one of my T3 turbos, etc ....

friday night we loaded it all in the truck ....

Dan - it's simply amazing how mild boost transforms these. Car is only at 12# now, but where you really notice it is in the transition. Just tip inypto 3-4 # of boost and it scoots versus the labor they go through ... Figure a mild, safe tune up added 100 Hp to it. Simply transformed it.

clean looking car, before you did the rebuild did you ever consider a new ecoboost 4 banger swap

Most of the parts for this swap was either stuff I outgrew, spares, or otherwise on hand. Also I was able to "leverage" my know how on the squirt platform to make this run. It just didn't make a lot of sense to move this to something else as long as mine is still 2.3 based.

i just thrashed to get it together and running for her. Without a doubt, it will get an inter cooler sooner than later, but that's about it ... Car already got a lot of fun stuff like my old UMI lowers, aluminum driveshaft, got a cam pulley, etc ...

Being a convertible, I'll never set the car up to run much quicker than 13.99 unless she agrees to a roll bar, and she doesn't want one now.

Bob, I have that same shifter . I have to install the leather boot . What's the secret . The little spring looks like a pain ..

I hate the shifter, lol ,,, the big plate pops in with 4 of those clips, then the trim with 4, then the leather part pops in last no clips ... In general we will see how long before it starts rattling ... I have to go back in it since the back up lights are on in park and reverse

I still have work to do on warm start and idle, both need tuning ... It runs and drives great now once it's going. I never had to tune idle with an auto car like this and I'm learning as I go

also going to build an intercooler for it. See if I can work it up to 21 or so pounds of boost. Debating if I should order a converter for it, or just add my nitrous to help get it moving (nitrous will flash the converter)
